I'm new so please tell me if putting this here is inappropriate.

Will the regular Saturday slowies ride still be happening this coming weekend? That is, Saturday the 24th?

Additionally if anyone knows, I understand there's crit racing at Heffron park, does anybody know if this will be on this coming Saturday as well?

Thanks for the help!

Entirely appropriate question and we should have communicated it somewhere helpful. The answer is - I'm not sure.

However, it matters whether I am sure or not as I'm the rostered ride leader! I know I'm not doing Christmas Day but I'm thinking the same might apply for Christmas Eve. Watch this space ...

I believe Randwick Botany CC had their last race for the year on 17th December and won't start again until the 14th January

Thanks EMT, I could certainly understand if people had things to do on christmas eve :P

Is the track at Heffron park just a normal piece of footpath open to use whenever? Just wondering if I could take my bike and have a cruise around it sometime to see what it's like.

Heffron is open all hours but bear in mind that it's also a favourite for local walkers and kids. So you'd be well advised not to sprint down the straights and take corner at high speed. You'll likely end up facing a dog, walker or another kid's bike front on. Even on race days, there'd still be the occasional soccer ball.

It's also like riding on a cheese grater that has been jack-hammered by someone having a seizure. If you crash on it, you'll look like a hamburger patty.
By all means check it out, but laps of centennial park would be infinitely more enjoyable.

The idea is not to crash at Heffron.

Any update on tomorrow? Ride or no ride? Not sure that I can go myself at this point anyway, just seeing what's happening.

Does it matter? If you have the time and urge, then ride. If not, don't. I am sure there'll be riders in CP doing lots of loops. Don't have to wait for an official ride. Hoping the rain will stay away.

Oops - my bad. No ride tomorrow. A message went out via email to all current members and I forgot to update here. But like Weiyun says, easy ride over to Centennial Park. Otherwise we'll see you Boxing Day Andrew.

La Perouse will be popular tomorrow I'd say if the weather is clear. Will be heading that way very early and then come back to CP for some more laps. Watch out for glass on our roads, especially Oxford St.

We are going to RNP Waterfall in and then to Bundeena and over on the ferry. Want to join us on the way up? Probably head off about 6.30.

Have been reading through this thread and cannot make out where the ride on the 27th is going to. Already in the 'bad' books for wanting to do a ride on a public holiday.

All I can make out is that there are hills galore. Need to know so I can change my gear cluster to fit. At the moment the largest is only 20T.

Marc. Its a Royal National Park (RNP) ride going in at the Audley turn-off meaning going up the biggest hill. Then out at Waterfall and back via the normal route. About 4 hrs or more. I'll be riding 34/28!

here's a map of just the Sutherland RNP loop http://www.mapmyride.com/s/routes/view/ ... nd/2078721

Thanks for the info. That counts me out. Dont have the proper equipment to survive the ride. Got a 24T cluster in the mail. Maybe next time.
