Thanks to all for your concern. The lunch bunch looked after me and got me to the bride who did the pick up in Newtown.

For those who don't know the detail. The front wheel slipped out from under me on the slippery white road paint on the corner of Zammit st redfern. Fortunately my cheek and lip broke my fall, protecting the bike.

doctor says all ok. swelling will go down and the lip will heal. I need a new helmet though.

I have pics to post later! they won't win me a modelling contract anytime soon

it only hurts when i laugh.
Cheers Dougie

Good you are OK. Commiserations to the Bride, it looked unlikely that any passionate kissing would take place in the immediate future.

It's unclear to me how the front of your jersey copped all the road rash along with your face, but there you go. Your face probably saved your collarbone as well.

The bride surely won't be happy about cycling now that you got her out of bed? You will be in the dog box for a while Dougy

Dougie, I was right behind you when you went down, maybe it was the wet white lines?.. or maybe that white Fiat Uno?, it’s still a blur, heal soon
