I've recently purchased a set of Speedplay X pedals and fitted them. I'm having trouble with the cleat setup. I've set the pedals to give me as much clearance as possible but due to the amount of float they run, my heels hit the rear chainstays.

I've tried to dial out the minimum amount of float to ensure my heel clears the chainstays but the screw gets really tight and i cannot screw without threading it.

Any tips on how to adjust would be helpful. Do I need a longer spindle set??

Cheers,

Noel

Speedplay X don't have adjustable float, what you need are the Speedplay Zeros.

Apologies, they are Zeros. All sorted now. I realised this morning that I had the right side cleat L/R offset backwards. I've moved it across and now it's all good.

Any pointers on loosening the cleat float screws would still be handy. Maybe a good spray of Teflon lube as the manual recommends?
