Thought it might be fun to create a thread where you post your favourite photo of each of your bikes.

Heres one to kick us off.

Weird, I can't see any of the photos; though Victoria's Yeti showed up fleetingly.

Victoria - two questions:
1) Did you get that from CBD?
2) Was it originally hot pink and you had it resprayed?

If the answers are yes then I saw your frame before you did. It came in while I was in there disgracing myself with the purchase of those white house of cards velocity rims... I preferred the frame when it was hot pink!

1) Yes
2) Yes

The full story is in the mountain biking forum... All the guys in CBD wanted me to keep it pink too, except for Chris (the only sensible one clearly). In fact they were going to give me an extra $200 off just to keep in pink. But I just couldn't do it. Maybe if I was faster. I did see it before it was sprayed and I took a photo of it too. I'm glad I did get it sprayed - the pink frame would never have gone with the red metal zero's!

I'll go check the mountain bike forum. And of course the solution to the colour clash is a hot pink powdercoat on the xeros!

OK I'm at home now and my browswer is working. My pick of the bikes is the Colnago. Toff, if ever that goes up for sale.....

Below is my daily commute, when it was a new-ish build.

Well... As it happens, it would appear that I now have 4 Colnagos in this particular colour scheme. I've given it some thought, and my plan is to have one running Campag 8-speed, one running (period correct) 9-speed, and one runing 10-speed. I did entertain the idea of having an 11-speed too, but instead I've decided to sell the last one. Unfortunately, there are already two people ahead of you in the queue. Maybe I should auction it.

ok, im going to post a few pics up in a row of my and other peoples bikes.

heres just a normal pic of my nice little bmc, leaning against Alex Chugg's old silver work horse on a long ride up to and around the central coast, we then both cracked, and i took this photo on the train on the way home :D

Image

and with race wheels, at a race :P

Image

here is a photo of simon on his Inexa, its his back up, and bike that he owned before he had a teschner. This was not long after he got back on the bike this year after the collor bone.

Image

And this is the bmc track bike i was on at the world cup :)

Image

note that it is the same frame as this one, which cracked in half

Image
Image

ridden by the lovely shelley evans, of the USA, and peanut butter team that me and simon got to sit opposite at the world cup :D and breakfast a few times :D
Image

Next we have a nicer pic of the white track bike of mine, ready for some time trialling, also using simons nice wheels. Note, the frame is probably only worth less than the hubb of the back wheel, let alone the rest of them?!

Image

Next is Alex 'Chugg's Track bike looking nice and spiffy for a time trial, i think it may have been the sydney track titles last year?

Image

and my nice green road bike, on its way to canberra on a day trip

Just curious since that wouldn't be legal in a UCI sanctioned race.

Really? HED disc is a spoked wheel with cover... where do they draw the line?

Not sure, I'm pretty sure the old fly wheels, which were a spoked wheel with a thin plastic cover are no longer legal. I know that if the cover is fitted after its left the factory its not legal.

You are right Christian
IIRC, wheel covers come under:
1.3.024 Any device, added or blended into the structure, that is destined to decrease, or which has the effect of decreasing, resistance to air penetration or artificially to accelerate propulsion, such as a protective screen, fuselage form of fairing or the like, shall be prohibited.

It's not actually mine - I don't have enough people to put on it! One I took last month in The Netherlands. Commuting Dutch style!

Yes Ian.

It's the ol' "N plus One" scenario.

Been amazed at the number of original parts that were made in Oz.

Frame, headset, inner tubes, tyres, bell, handlebars, pedals, seat, handgrips and toe straps and the suicide kids seat and footrest.

Coming to grips at present with Mr Sturmey Archer....

I dissembled and pretty much reassembled a Sturmey Archer in ~1973. Let me know if I can lend any of my technical expertise :)

Stuart - it has got the aero bars to make it faster.

Mike - the device has three brakes, one on the front, two on the rear including a drum, and at this stage, none of them work.

This also makes it faster.

Eleri - thanks for the offer of tech help with the Sturmey Archerism. If you have any little springs and pawls and things that were left over from the 1973 rebuild, could you bring them along to Mazza's tomorrow morning?

Does anybody need a dodgy child seat and footrests? They are not exactly Australian Standard, or indeed safe, but a bit of filing, lick of paint, lick of paint, they will last another fifty years.

It is a bit controversial isn't it? I won't dig out the photo of my crosser with my track bike on the back hanging out with Rob's crosser with his track bike on the back... That wouldn't be appropriate for the forum audience! ;)
