I'm in.

But I'm warning you - I have form. I came 2nd in an office 2009 AFL tipping comp, 2nd in a comp for the weird english round ball game, and am currently coming 2nd in the 2010 AFL.

Hmmm, there are only two entered in this TdF tipping at the moment. 2nd place is not really going to cut it this time ...

I'm going to rejoice in the fact that the ladder says I'm coming first.....The other 5 tipsters may also be coming first due to the race having not started yet. at least I can have the glory of first place for a while as I'm not so confident it will continue after racing begins

For some more fun, there's a fantasy tour de france on the SBS website. Good prize if you win as well.

If you've joined the SBS/Rabbobank tipping comp I've created a DHBC mini-league.

I bequeeth you to join my mini-league. Go to http://sbs.com.au/tdf/fantasy and pick your team, then use the ‘mini-league admin' option to join my mini-league.

The details you need are:
Your league name is: DHBC Mini-League
Your password is: DHBC

Ok, we've got 5 in the Fantasy TdF Mini League.

First prize in $20,000 with Rabbobank.

If any of you know Nick Cooper from our club, he came pretty close to winning this last year. Definately a master stats man. Remember the transfers rules... you can change your teams at different times/stages and you've got make provisions for any potential dopers who withdraw in disgrace.

I'm in both comps.

I was already in the SBS comp, but I stopped work on that comp when I realised the teams had not been announced. I realised this when I read a report that said Andre Greipel had been left out of the tour, but he was still in my fantasy team. Silly to do anything further when the riders you pick might not be in the race!!!

I will also be away in Thailand for the first week. Is there any way I can place my tips in advance for the first week? (Both comps?)

Hmm, i may have stuffed my team for stage 1, just noticed something about the transfer window closing at 9am AEST, and i hadn't transferred my sprinters into the team yet...... guess i'll have to wait and see if i miss out on too many points for stage 1, or i can just hope for a breakaway. :?

Don't worry T-bone. three of my riders got scratched before I had a chance to change them!

i should have just done it last night after the team was locked in. I had just about all GC riders at first to take advantage of the end of tour points (only applies to original team), but i didn't read far enough to see the transfer deadlines before each stage as i assumed it would be like all other fantasy games with the deadline at the start of the next stage (though there is a slightly confusing thing regarding transfers being recorded using server time, which isn't AEST????). Anyway, i'll just have to hope it works out, i've used all 6 transfers for this week, so i won't have to worry again until friday night when i can use the next round of transfers to bring my climbers back in.

Crap, I didn't realise the transfer window closes at 9am either. This presents a problem. I'll have to start getting up earlier just so I can change them before work :(

Ok. I'm in the Fantasy TdF Mini League. Not off to a great start. position 2,500 something..

I also picked all the GC contenders to begin with, but have dumped them in favour of the sprinters for the first week. I've already blown my bonus stage :?

Better than me! Missing the transfer window meant i missed a large amount of points, but luckily those crashes seemed to help me out a bit.

Yeah, I've been totally sidelined with family issues. I didn't get a chance to get my team in at all or get my head around the details. I think i might need personal coaching now!

My SBS fantasy team seems to be travelling well, but has anyone noticed else noticed the mistakes in the results for stages 12 and 13?? I sent them a message, but they're taking a while to fix things.

I did notice something strange on Sunday with my tips. It did not seem to register my team properly and no points were awarded?. I thought it was because I missed the cut off, as you mentioned in an earlier post.

I thought I was closing in on you James, then suddenly you jumped about 800 positions in front of me  ...You're doing really well.

Hmm, now i'm really kicking myself for not reading the rules all the way through originally.

They've updated the end of tour points on the sbs comp, and i've made my big move all the way up to 7th place overall!!!! Only 80points off $20,000. I'd say it mostly came down to missing the transfer cut off for stage 1. Hopefully they'll run this comp again next year.

In Oztips i forgot to put the tips in for overall at the start, but i'm happy enough with 2nd.
