I'm in the market for new tyres on both my bikes and was hoping that someone out there on the interwebs could give me their opinion of what is a good tyre for commuting/training.
Also apart from the obvious what is the difference between wire bead and folding tyres?

I'll answer the easy question first. From a performance point of view, there is no difference between wire bead and folding tyres. Folding tyres typically have a kevlar bead instead of wire. This is slightly lighter, and can make packaging and postage cheaper if you are ordering online. That's all.

I still like the Conti Gatorskins for a non-racing tyre. Definately the most reliable tyre I've had in the last 3 years.

But if you get a good deal online, I'd just get what you can and wear em out.
