Is anyone doing The Great Hunter Cycling Classic V2B CycloSportif Challenge on Sunday the 24th May?

http://www.nsw.cycling.org.au/cy_nsw/ra ... /09120.htm

I can help with a lift (leaving from Petersham) that morning.

Rick..

You'd find it pretty easy. Here is the map and elevation:

Maybe you could drink the wine before the ride to make it more interesting!

Overview of the ride:
http://nsw.cycling.org.au/?ID=34007

It was a great day except that there weren't any water stations available and I ran out of water at 60klms and didn't complete the century.

My first experience in a "race" wasn't all that crash hot as I got dropped after 10klms and rode by myself most of the time. Much more training needed!

I'm sure most of us have been in that situation before, just keep giving it a crack and you'll see the improvements over time. As for water, most races won't have a water station (except the big ones like Grafton, and Tour of Bright (40degree heat)) so you just have to learn how much fluid your body needs, and other times you just have to ration the water to last.

Good on you for having a go anyway.
