Race Report - Enduro

Weather - Fine no wind race start approximately 6 deg.

D Grade: 80 min plus two laps (3.6km laps)

Bunch stayed to gether mostly for the entire race. there were some attacks but the bunch responded really well and they were quickly nullified.

There was a mide race prime which i entertained some thoughts of chasing but left it to a few others and i could also scope out the "sprinters" in the bunch.

I did a couple of turns down the main dragway which were actually quite tough. maybe the wind had pick up a little or the cold air was just hard to push through.

My clock was sayiing 75minutes when halfway through a lap i hear a "tick, tick, tick......" from the front wheel. I did not sound good and was certainly not normal. I stopped and investigated and found a two inch nail poking through the tyre. The nail was hitting the forks on each revolution. It had gone completly through. It happened in the carpark, i asked the marshal there for a lap out but he thought there was any. Anyhow i changed my wheel (had a spare in the ute) raced back to the commisare postition but was told there is no laps out due to mechanicals. I was a bit disappointed but thats racing.

Avg speed 33km/h

Good race i reckon i might have been in with a shot if i held on and no misfortune.
