the LACC Crits at Newington Armory are a nice alternative to racing at Heffron. They race grades A-D on a pretty good surface in a beautiful setting. Check the details on the LACC home page. Currently sign-on is from 5.30pm, C/D start 6pm, A/B start 6.35pm. If weather looks dodgy, check on their facebook page.
It's set to run today 28/1/16, so I'm planning to ride out and try not to be lapped in B grade. Leaving Newtown 5pm if anyone else wants to ride out.

Race report: Bro and I rolled up as C & D grade were about to roll out, delayed by the storm. Bro signed on to A grade and I put my name to B grade. Bro eventually got dropped by A grade and finished with B grade (who stated 15 seconds later). I couldn't hold on up the slight rise out of the one sharp corner, and got dropped on the second lap. I went on to be lapped twice before the finish. (same as last time I rode in B grade). We found it a bit too much riding to the start and home again on a week-night. Otherwise, a beautiful setting. Great photos as always by Josh from riding focus

You will need a racing licence. You *might* be able to get a day licence but I wouldn't rely on it.

Yes beginners can ride provided you have a race licence.

Bigger turnout from Dulwich this week. Maybe 13 altogether on a perfect evening. DHBC in A grade placed 1st Peter Livinstone , 2nd Bill Bolton 4th and 7th. In B grade we got 4th 5th and Peter Mcswiggen finished somewhere which is better than Simon Bolton (who pulled out the lap before the whistle) and me (pulled out after 3 laps). I didn't see where the C/D riders finish but Richard Bull finished third in D grade.
