Those of you on Strava would have noticed that the Rapha Festive 500 Challenge has been released. Ride 500km's in 8 days between the 24th December and 31st December to work off those mince pies and earn a woven badge in the process.

I thought I would create a post to allow people to post the rides they are doing.

I am away Christmas Eve and Christmas but will be back with a vengeance on Boxing Day and am already thinking the 3 (or 4) Gorges as my Ironman training kicks off.

Good idea Jo!
I just joined the challenge, finished it last year.
Great time to ride, traffic quiet, weather hopefully great and a belly full of fuel.
I won't commit yet but intend to ride xmas eve, xmas day, away boxing day to the 28th then every day til the new year.
A good ride New Years Day is a great way to celebrate!

Jo and I will be doing 5 Hills on new years day - probably leave at about 7:00am from our place. It was so quite this year - only problem was the amount of glass on the rd around Bondi & the occasional drunk.

@Anna - My New Years day ride will follow the MC 5 Hills route, which is similar to the DHBC Tue ride, but different. Leaves from our place at 7:00am, goes via back of Newtown / Erko and Waterloo to CP and then Bronte, Bondi, Watsons, Rose Bay, etc. Riders welcome to join at any point along the way. Bring two tubes, there was masses of glass this year

By the way, 3 Gorges is still on come the *admin edit* 26th. However, it has occurred to me I haven't been on a bike in 2 weeks prior so I MAY catch a train from Hornsby to get home after the Gorges.

I've found a coffee shop that's open and it's my local and it's good! Beejays in Illawarra Road on the Cooks River side of the station is open 7-12.

For those riding tomorrow, I think that we will take a vote on the morning for where to ride. I'm flexible but need to make it hard for myself so hills are a must. Personally i'd like to hit The Wall and think that Audley In > Wall > Return Via Helensburg is the go. I do need to make some km's up (2 days off this weekend) so may tack on some more for those keen for punishment. We can discuss en-route....

Audley > Bald Hill and back through the park is also not so bad an idea....

It had struck me as an exotic way to get to Centennial Park. Strava had me as all time 9th on Belmont Lane, which shows it's not a common bike route. Most of the others on Strava's list were in today's pack.
