Ruby has had her first taste of a serious road race, completing the Jnr Tour of Goulburn.
We talked about what she wanted to achieve by entering given where she is currently at with her fitness and skillset.
Her response to the demands of the race were very promising;
completed every stage
laid down base times for a 6k and 10kTT
coped really well with the warm-up/race/warm-down/recovery/eat/rest process so important in stage racing
had a smile on her face all weekend, enjoyed herself and learnt a lot about the caper from observing and participating
is inspired to keep training and improve
monday morning, no soreness in her legs, bum or core - great result
ohh and she looked resplendent in her gold trimmed campag knicks and sparkling new DHBC race jersey :D

Something to ponder - sunday we pitted between the Saunders Family and Team Oaten - old man Saunders opens up his custom built checkerplate race trailer and unpacks 5 Cervelo S3's with jnr gearing, Team Oaten matched it with Specialized Tarmacs. Drool....................

Soigneur Alan

ps Still cackling about Dougies Dinnerville report - an absolute gem.
