With the year drawing to a close, I'm interested to know what the average is for a DHBC rider. I have a very short commute and don't do any racing.

Big kudos goes to the king and queen of the road in 2012.

Great idea John. I am happily in the 5,000+ category. 2 years ago it was zero.

Strava says 5,366k over 90 rides. Doesn't include anything done on shopping bike ....

Currently on 7432km. But given I've got a least another week of commuting, 1 or 2 Waterfall rides, plus an attempt at the Rapha Festive 500, I should easily pass 8000km.

So far, 2800km were ridden fixed.

Not counted is a MTB tour of Koh Yao Noi (Little Long Island) off Phuket, Thailand.

Longest ride was the Bobbin Head Classic at 180km (includes the ride there and back), followed by Stuart's 4 Gorges ride at 150km.

Highlight of the year was the 4 Gorges, especially riding back with the group and seeing the looks on a couple of kids faces as the bunch swept past. All but one rider had a DHBC jersey on.

Cool idea John, I too was averaging zero two years ago. Fat, Fifty and F*^#ed as the saying goes.

So this year to date is;
6391 KM
72,500 vertical meters (love that number)
163 rides

Which gives me an average ride distance of 39 km. Two years ago that would have been a maximum effort, now it's an average. Love the bike.

I've also done 370 spin classes. 10 to go will make 380 for the year.

8,369 so far, but I'll do a pile of kms between Christmas and New Year. Definitely going to beat the Rapha Challenge.

Longest ride was 300km.

This doesn't count anything I did on the track. That might add just 300-500kms seeing as I mostly failed to train on the track and only raced and warmed up:-) Nor does it count spin classes, of which there were quite a few but unlike Mike I have no record of how many.

My Strava says 2,400km but I didn't take the Garmin on quite a few rides for a while there as I didn't have a mounting bracket on the fixie... So I'd guess around 4,000km.

Given I've just upped the training intensity it will be interesting to see how many I do next year.

Also trying to do the Rapha 500 but might be a challenge as I'll be in Queensland on holidays.

Just noticed I got my first QOM on Strava though! Crystal St... Not one that many people ride I'm guessing.

ummm i gave up my speedo this year, and i don't do strava. i usually average 300+km weeks, plus some longer riders once or twice a month. when i did keep track of my km's i was doing 16000+ km* years, and this year i've dome more cycling...

*i don't own a car or have a drivers licence, so all the car km's people do, i do them on the bike.

so a conservative estimate would be 15600km's

I need to log the spin classes so to make sure I'm presenting different routines and music in any particular timeslot.

My commute K's this year are all over the place. Once my collarbone was plated they went up dramatically to 75k daily return commutes but the weekly distance steady reduced as the year went on, in accordance with my shifting work locations

Strava has me at 3628km, 123 rides, 29km ave.

Given back in April I thought Riding Slowies was a solid accomplishment, I'll claim that as a win.

In a boring meeting so I did some figures:

Every Waterfall for the year: 77km x 52 = 4004km
Every Slowies for the year: 40km (approx) x 52 = 2080km
Every Wed La Pa ride for the year: 40km (approx) x 52 = 2080km
Commute 3 times a week (on average): 60km x 52 = 3120

TOTAL = 11284

I would consider that A LOT of riding. So for those with figures above that, kudos to you!

Strava says 4,348km but its minus 3 months of pre-Garmin riding and doesn't include many unlogged kms on my roadie (or any the other 4 bikes that I reguarly ride!).
I have no idea how many kms. I don't own a car and rarely catch public transport so I guess... many!

6625 km on Stava.
Plus a few hundred unlogged.
Will try to crack 10000 km in 2013.

Also did about 70 km of swimming.

The year according to Strava
Distance 7,314.7km
Time 320hr 52m
Elev Gain 91,414m
Rides 239

I would guess another 240 km before christmas will get me just over 7,500.

Great work. All those with over 7,500 by year end get to post pictures of their legs. And there will be a prize for those who can successfully match them to faces - there's an incentive!

Surely you need to get a Garmin transponder and mount for all your your bikes ... :-) you must have done heaps and heaps of k's ...

5,750 so far - not counting bits and pieces of commutes or spin. At least it'll be over 6,000 by the end of the year. That's 95 recorded rides (and 53,200 m of elevation) I'm surprised to see that it's only 26 Waterfall rides - although there are a few adventure rides and other trips that substituted.

I've done 1185km since 20th October (Fixie Century) when I first used my Garmin. No idea how many kms I rode prior to that but I guess I might have done around 4000 for the year. Most of my rides were on the fixie too...

4700 km for my first year on a bike, pretty pleased with that. I could have easily done more but was lazy, maybe this year I'll step it up... (probably not)
