I'm tossing up between this or Waratah vets. Might see you there tomorrow morning if I choose Heffron.

Thanks for the photos Pia!

Great riding from Jake Grierson who won the Prime in C Grade Men. That's him in the first couple of photos on the front.

I won B Grade Women in a move the surprised me, let alone anyone else in the race. And looking at the photos I see my non-strategy play out as I jumped off the wheel I was on too early and pulled out right and gunned it. Amazingly I overtook everyone, including 2nd placed Lise Benjamin just before the line. I nearly lost the bike about 20 metres from the line when I hit a bump when out of the saddle on the drops and me and the bike became airborne. I still can't believe I won a sprint!

Apart from that it was an interesting race with some old hands, some unpredictable bike handling on the corners from newbies and multiple attacks off the front that went nowhere. The Prime was won by Cait who often trains at Tempe with the juniors, ably supported by her Mum who came 3rd.

Jose Rodriguez (DHBC) won Men's A Grade.

Without going into all the gory details, on the last lap I got the jump on the bunch. A rider from Manly was already off the front, who I quickly passed on the straight. I urged him to get going or we would both be caught. I quickly gapped him but I had nothing at the line. As you can see in the pic he dug in and chased me down and 3rd place also quite close. I'll be there next week though and try for the win!!
