Sidi v Shimano Shoe Sizing

I've seen some anecdotal info that Sidi are around x1 Euro size smaller.

I'm looking at ordering a pair by tomorrow online. I'm a 43 in Shimano and find them almost right if not a smidge large (Could go a 42.5). Does anyone else have a similar foot? If so, what did you buy?

I'm thinking of getting a 43.5 Sidi Ergo 3.

If you come to the track tonight you could probably try on a few people's sidi's. I'll pack my 44's in if you want to try them. Something like Sidi's I would really recommend trying and buying locally though. I know there is a massive price difference but it's good peace of mind.

And if you buy them from a shop once with the correct fit, you can buy them online next time...

I had 45 Shimano's that were too big within 18 months after stretch. I have Sidi 44 and they are great after 24 months. I would still buy my shoes locally though. Sidi used not to be discounted for Aussie's on Wiggle .. I assume that's changed?

I'm a 43 in both Sidi and Shimano.

If you want to try 43's, I've about a number of pairs in both brands

I've pulled the trigger and estimated I'm a 43.5. Will take advantage of Wiggles new returns process if they aren't right. They have 25% off the Ergo 3 Speedplay model and a £40 voucher bringing the purchase down to a more palatable $330.

My new kicks arrived today (love Wiggle and their prompt shipping). Fit is almost spot on. I've not tweaked them in any way and the toe box seems to be roomy but not too roomy. The rest of the shoe is spot on. Nice and snug.

To look at, they appear notably smaller than my Shimano's but are like the Tardis inside. Suprisingly fit well.

Just gotta fit my cleats and wait for some immaculate weather to christen them...

Glad to hear the gamble worked out! Which colour did you get?

All fitted up now and dialled in the heel screws.

Went for the only colour available with Speedplay cleat pattern. Stark white.

I don't know about you but I found the stock insoles to be appalling, I had sore feet after my first ride with them. Luckily I get them replaced with some Superfeet one when I had my bike fit just after getting the shoes and they're very comfy now.

You read my mind. I pulled them out last night to have a look. I'm yet to buy a pair of shoes that do not need the inner soles replaced immediately. I have Superfeet in my Shimano shoes and they were instantly better.

I'll need a new set for the Sidi Ergo's as I had the beginnings of sore feet on my way in this morning to work (11km ride). I'll be down to the LBS for a replacement shortly.

The stiffness and lightness of the shoes was astounding though. Had heaps more power 8)
