Congratulations to Eleri for winning Waratah Vets this morning. Apparently she sprinted past a guy who was determined not to let a woman overtake him - HOWEVER - He had to work so hard he spewed after the finish line, and just pipped her at the line. In the end he was relegated due to being a D grade rider. I have noticed that RAW track has really improved Eleri's general fitness / acceleration. Even if only finishing 4th or 5th in those races - she always comes home strong. Well done Eleri.

My C grade race was non eventful to most people, but I was pleased to sit on the pace comfortably near the front, and finish with the sprint bunch. I think the average speed was 36.9km. I still am no-where near contesting the sprint with the boys, but it's all great training after all.

Also for the RAW riders, I was surprised to see Stellios up in C grade. He attacked quite often and didn't seem to have any problems hanging on. Up to C grade for him at RAW I think. He's another one of these riders that seems to have improved a heap during the RAW season.

Thanks for that Trouty! And for encouraging me to go - was feeling lazy this morning for sure.

Look, what can I say. Except ...

Causing a competitor to spew!! how good is that? :-)

Podium shot - well what passes for a podium at Waratah Vets

Congratulations Eleri! (On the win I mean.) But you've clearly qualified yourself for a new title in addition to Chief Wildlife Officer.

Well done Eleri. That's the 2nd bunch of guys you've beaten in as many months.
The (male) Valley Wheelers' saving grace is we didnt spew

Nice work. Your next mission, should you choose to accept it, is to make someone "spew" on a Slowies ride!

They'll just put you up a grade Eleri. You have to be able to tell everyone "I could've won, but chose not to" - ....and mean it.

Strangely I said to the race director I would go up to D Grade but he asked me to stay in E grade and "do more work on the front" because he said I looked like I still had plenty of gas in the tank. Which I did as I had been coasting along towards the back. They want more numbers in E apparently.

Other male riders were really pleased to see another woman. And pointed out the best wheels to follow. They might be regretting that now :-)

Great win Eleri and $50 for first means there was a full size field.
~snip~ he asked me to stay in E grade and "do more work on the front" because he said I looked like I still had plenty of gas in the tank. Which I did as I had been coasting along towards the back. They want more numbers in E apparently
I wonder if that means they'll let me stay in E grade? I mean, I always do work on the front, especially on that downhill section after the finish line

Well done Eleri.

How many more wins will you need to pay for your new Baum?

I believe I have won just over 2% of the purchase price so far this year!!

Assuming a 30% increase on the current rate of winning (faster bike), at today's prices, I will have earned enough to pay for it in 2032.
