Got this update today for next months race. Anyone raced there before? What are the likes/hates about racing there?

For your Diary:

The next SUVelo race is on Sunday 23 September and will be held at Dunc Gray criterium circuit.

The course is considerably shorter than what we're used to at Heffron and can't accommodate more than 40 riders on the track at the same time so we've made the following adjustments to start times for each grade.

7am Men's D & Women's B
7.45am Men's C & Women's A
8.40am Men's B
9.30am Men's A

There will be a presentation to the winners after each time slot.

Please pass on to other members of your club who might be interested and follow us on Twitter @SydneyUniVelo for all the latest racing updates.

Thanks

Mel

It's short at 800m and has a very tight double left hand corner that's bound to create some .... interest for the riders. Besides that its pretty flat although it's a slightly uphill drag to the line.

So does this mean that there's no SUVELO race at Heffron this Sunday? I only ask because it's apparently on every third Sunday of the month which would be this coming one.

Yes it does mean it has shifted to Dunc Gray for this month and that there is no SUVelo racing at Heffron

The track there is awesome. Smooth like butter. I only rode it a bit in one of our club crits a long time ago and there were 4-5 of us in our group, I imagine the corners could get quite hairy with 20+ as Stuart said. From memory you can hit the first left hander which is after a slight downhill quite comfortably at 45km/h. But if you go off the track you're in the jungle.
