Flat, Fast, and hopefully not too windy.

Entries for the Sydney Road Titles close this Sunday - May 13th (NO LATE ENTRIES)

Held at the Regatta Centre, the course is as flat as you'll ever get, but that means fast, so get your entries in.

The challenge is when you're trying to hang onto the back of the Elite Men bunch in a crosswind at 50km/h+. However, i do agree, flat can be boring.

So Trouty won the women's race the last two years and is annoyed that we will be in Italy when this is on (well, kind of annoyed) so who from DHBC will defend the women's title in her place? (Apologies to Jo in advance, I had to do it) :roll:

M5 race report;
- Craig
- Mike

Weather cool , a little windy and dry

Pace was seriously up and down, for example at one spot we were doing 50 and 200 Mtrs later we hit 28.

A CCC rider was off the front and got the prime but was consumed with 2 laps to go.

I felt good but lacked confidence being my first race back and decided to not contest the sprint, while Craig stayed in the thick of it and came something like 7th

Suppose I better give a quick report. A good race overall, i missed the winning break of 12 riders and spent the next 30kms with various other riders trying to get across. The GPM boys had 4 or so riders in the break and the team mates kept impeding our chase effort. Eventually six of us realised that we weren't going to get clear so we simply began a paceline to try and bring the breakaway back but sadly we ran out of time and energy. Pretty happy with how I rode despite not placing.

Not a bad race, but i was caught in a crash at around the 30km point, caused by a slowing in the bunch. No injuries, but no way i could catch up to the race. So an early drive home for me.
