The below information is straight from the TDU website. Even if you don't plan on attending at this point, peer group pressure could force a backflip. Save the date now, plant the seed with the significant other, open that secret bank account, sweep the back of the lounge suite for loose change and put it in a jar, lie, cheat and steal. But "DO" whatever you have to do, as January comes around quickly! It looks like there will even be a public holiday in amongst it to make it easy on the annual leave allocation.
If you were considering visiting the TDU and couldn't decide, have a chat with anyone who did it this year. A ball was had by all.

Minister Gago also confirmed the dates for the 2013 Santos Tour Down Under, which will mark the 15th year of event.
The 2013 event will begin with the Down Under Classic on Sunday, January 20, followed by the six stages of the Santos Tour Down Under from Tuesday, January 22 to Sunday, January 27, 2013.
“Fifteen years is a great milestone for the Tour, which has now established itself as the first race on the international cycling calendar and as a leading event on the world stage,” Ms Gago said.
Full stage details and race routes will be announced in July.

Just finished watching this, it's the first thing I thought of when I read "Touring in Tassie"
What a great film - it captures my highlights of riding in Tasmania pretty much perfectly (although understandably they left out the logging trucks, feral locals, and abundant stinky roadkill). I recognised so many of those palces from our 2011 tour in Western Tasmania. It sure would be nice to ride it on a light road bike like those guys, rather than on a clunker loaded up with panniers. Although the whole touring-with-panniers thing has its own joys.
