Cootamundra Haycarters road opens are coming up very soon, May 7th and 8th. Entries close April 24th.

The races are nice and fast, and the distances are nice and short 70km and 60km. These races are perfect if you haven't done any road opens before.

Need more info, check HERE and HERE. Any questions?

For accomodation, we'll probably be staying at a nice old pub (now B&B) not far out of Coota.

Who's in?

My beagle comes from Coota. Maybe I should consider taking her to visit her mum and now many relatives.

I've entered both races and booked a room at Shirley.
How far is it from Coota? Can one ride to the start?

It's approximately 20kms from Coota. You can ride to the start if you really want to....

John said he has space (as long as there's still room for me on the way back).

As the afternoon has worn on I've decided not to race. Been struggling to get out of bed all week and a short stint on the motorpace on Wednesday was nearly the death of me. Thought it would be alright by now but I just feel wrecked. Think I'm probably coming down with something, and race pace is probably just going to smash me too much. I need to think about self preservation for a few things I have coming up.

Have fun y'all! Smash it :)

So this afternoon I decided to ride the course for the race tomorrow...

Its pretty nice I reckon - apparently it is significantly different from last year? After the first hill which comes up 10kms in (which got quite steep at the top) theres a quick downhill before a sharp left into the old gundagai road. the quality of the road on the downhill wasnt great, could be a bit hairy going fast in a big bunch down that. for about 2-3kms at the start of the old gundagai road there are roadworks, and the road is pretty crap. when i was there this afternoon there were some construction trucks parked there also and the road is quite thin. after this section it is good again for the rest of the course though (although you go back through it again on the second leg of the race). i was actually riding with two random old dudes who are racing tomorrow, and it was on this section that one of them just veered into the other and pushed him off the side of the road throught the gravel and into the grass. simon - if you thought i was all over the place in the pacelines on wednesday nights you should of seen these guys!

anyhoo see you guys tomorrow! have a safe drive.

Hahaha, it was probably the same one did that to me at Mudgee. I wonder if they're practicing team tactics!

Great weekend! Yesterday Amy took third in the women's, as well as 11th overall. Today Pat in his first ever road race weekend, took the 2nd two inyermediate sprints.

In our after race tennis match at the noble residence, alex lost one ball, but hit some fine shots, and I was pleased to jit 5 serves into the little square.

On the calorie count it turns out that the large pizza may have almost out pointed the hour and half of racing I was involved in!! That's over the 2000 mark?!!

I have some photos, and will try and load them, unfortunately I didn't take any of the pizza, I do have video of today's sprint finishes.. Not mentioning how I hot there first :D

Ok one of these videos was a test, one was todays winner, one is the scratchies (the one with a yellow guy with hands is the overall

This is the court

Simon from behind, he doesn't do the square that pat does, but I would still rate it a 7.5, it really depends what you go for, I'm more into the muscle, so would be happier with pats if it was me.
Image
This horse had stopped to watch the race, again, how I got a photo of it Is a mystery.

Here's another of the pics I too with out mentioning it to any one (as is all but one pic)

Umm I don't know what this is...
