Today me Ian and Hugo (as well as Michelle and Ellery) headed down to Waratah park (Loftus) for some nice club racing. Me and Ian in A grade, and Hugo in B grade.
Hugo battled his way through the B grade race as people dropped off the back, keeping him self in the top 5, and keeping all the attacks in check, only to end up throwing up in the 2nd last lap, and out of the race. Either way its going to make him stronger and will improve his RAW endurance race fitness tenfold.
In the A grade, me and Ian were dismayed to see that it wasn't a cruisy field at all, there were a few Heffron B graders etc there (perhaps an A grader). There wasn't that feeling that we should break away at all, though it was a bit slow on the down hills. The race stayed together until the last lap with a few faster bursts by people speeding the pace up, the final one of these from Ian on the last lap which ended in him attacking off the front coming into the bottom of the hill. I was in slightly the wrong spot at the back of the bunch, boxed in at the time. Ian's attack reached a ten meter gap, but was closed down coming into the strait. I then worked my way through the field to 6th or so, neither of us making the podium.

Hi Andrew, missed the track racing as I was away on the weekend, how did it go?
Hi Mike. Rhys was right, the rain spoilt our fun. The kids got their 1 lap TT in, Phil did his TT and I was being held on the back straight just about to go and it dumped down putting an end to events. So Phil was proclaiming the Track Championship his! We may try another day for derbys and scratchies. Back at Waratah this Sunday and then another break the week after as we all go to Bathurst.
