man you guys are worse than my mum for nagging.

Ok the report. Wind was blowing a gale from the south so the main straight and top half of the course were quite slow while the back straight was super quick (sometime's over 40). Ian and i had a chat at the start and decided that we would try to do as little work as possible into the wind and see what happens in the fast sections.
As it turns out most people had the same idea and the average speed for the race was well down (34 instead of 37ish). the race was very uneventful with a few riders trying their luck and the usual slow laps in between.
So with a couple of laps to go Ian moves up on the outside along the back straight and i follow suit with a Randwick Botany guy. On the last lap the Easts riders form up and jump hard as we cross the start finish line upping the pace a lot which strung the field out.
As we round the last long sweeping righty the group splits behind me and we are 6 for the final sprint. A big guy from easts go's as we turn into the straight but doesnt have the legs to go more than 50m's into the strong head wind so it slows and re-bunches. With about 150m to go the group starts the final sprint with me still in 6th wheel and Ian in 3rd or 4th. As Ian move's up next to a smaller East's rider he decides that he wanted to be closer to Ian so he vears right with a bump of bar's/wheels.
With all of this is going on i have moved to the far right and in the 39/11 gear start pushing out a mean sprint, Ian has cleaned his knicks and stands up to see if he cant catch. I end up taking it by about 10m's from Ian in second with an easts rider in thrid. Both Ian and myself have been instructed to ride in B grade.
disappointed there were no photos because it would been nice to see all the red on the podium.
