can anyone tell me what is the lowest grade at Heffron and what time would one need to be there to sign on to race?

Lowest grade is D. The racing starts at 2pm. I like to be there pretty early (1.15pm), but you can sign on right up until the start time just about. It depends on how long you want to warm up. A bit of a line can form as it gets closer, and if you're new you may want to leave some extra time to get your details into the computer.

Was that new guy called Will in C grade? He's very tall and skinny.

B grade turn out was good. Myself, Alex R, Tim L and John racing heffron for the first time. The race felt fast, really picked up after the first lap. Needed to hold a good speed down the straight.

I had a big pedal strike coming out of the squircle on about lap 5 or 6 and went straight onto the grass. Stayed up and managed to get back in the group. I think a few riders may have followed me off.

Dominic pushed the pace and controlled most of the race. At one stage about mid race as I'm trying to bring myself down from my limit I look over to see him cruising while eating a biscuit. As if it was suddenly afternoon tea time. He won easily and will surely be put up next week.

Alex made a valiant effort on his old steelie bike, which was a very nice looking machine. John should be commended as he is the first rider I've seen turn up to race heffron as a newbie and go straight into B grade. Finished ahead of me in the bunch sprint (I dropped off again on the final corner). Tim played the tail gunner and then went and did probably another 50k's after the race down to la parouse, having also done waterfall in the morning. I imagine he'll have no trouble doing the Grafton.

A well deserved win for Amy She spent at least 90% of the race on the front.

I got dropped after jumping on the back of some young kid who tried to break away after 4 or 5 laps wich took a deal of my energy. I managed to get back onto the bunch as they tended to speed up then slow down but i was only able to stay on for a couple more laps as there was another surge which i couldn't stay with. I managed to finish on the same lapas the bunch after trailing by the length of the straight for 3 laps. For a first race i reckon i could have done a lot worse, next plan is to finish with the bunch.

Well done Amy... all that hard training pays off & just because you've won all that prize money doesn't mean it's your shout at the pub.
