I'm heading out to Lidcombe on friday night to have a go at track racing. If there are any trackies interested in coming along, please let me know.

Also, I just wanted to check if anyone knew what time racing is on. I had a look at the LACC website and it didn't have much info.

Response from my LACC mate
gates open at 6:30, racing starts at 7:30.

Usually they'll combine grades, A/B & C/D, though not always, depends on the numbers.

I would be keen to come since racing is unlikely to be on tonight, but need to (1) get my bike out of storage at Tempe; (2) get a pink slip from the missus.

Access to the storage between 7 and 7.45 tonight

I have the same problem!

But I think they're usually open by 6:30 so I'm going to try to swing by.

There is no information on the web page. I spoke to someone on the committee and he said the site is being updated.

The track is on Wyatt Park next to the olympic swimming pool.

If you go down Church St Lidcombe and go accross Olympic Drive, it is just past the swimming pool on the right.
It is best to arrive at 7.00 for a warm up and registration and racing starts at 7.30.

It is a good friendly atmosphere and a fun night of racing. The track is flat

Thanks for the info Kevin, LACC should really have better info on their website.

Chris (toff) and I rolled out lastnight for an enjoyable spin at Lidcombe track. We were put in combinded C & D grades.
Unforntunally my best result was third in the 10 lap warmup scratch race in which I got third. For the rest of the night, neither of us were in the money placing 4th and 5th. It was good to experience to race on another track. I had a go in an open handicap and completely stuffed up after picking up the front marking then not overtaking him only to get spun out the back. Chris had a much better race and held onto fifth place in the open handicap.

I'm looking forward to racing again at Tempe this Thursday night.

Congratulations on a good effort. You are beginning to learn the tactics involved.

I forgot to mention this is an ideal track for children to learn to ride I have seen tricycles on the track before the racing begins.

There is a great canteen for the family.
