So I'm a noob to the track and I've been advised that I don't need a lockring. Then someone said I'd be crazy not too. What is the consensus?

Pending that, what is a good lockring to use and what tool is best to install/remove them?

I have a chain whip, but no specific tool to do this at the moment.
