Entries close Sunday 9th Feb for;
Thur 20th February NSW Masters Individual Pursuit Championships
Fri 21st February NSW Masters Sprint Championships
Sat 22nd February NSW Masters Time Trial Championships
Sat 22nd February NSW Masters Points Race Championships
Sun 23rd February NSW Masters Team Sprint Championships
Sun 23rd February NSW Masters Scratch Race Championships

Entries close Sunday 16th Feb for;
Sun 2nd March NSW Masters Club Teams Pursuit

The dates for some of the events clash with other activities for me, so I've emailed CNSW asking for start time guestimates.

If anyone wants to do a Masters Club Team Pursuit (3 - 4 riders), then I'm available. Assuming they haven't changed the format, it will be 2000mtr for 150+ (3 youngest riders = 150 year or more combined) or 3000mtr for sub 150

Anyone who is 49 or older on 13-12-2014 interested in joining John and I?

I will be 46. It seems to be getting further out of reach not closer!

I've had to withdraw from the individual events due to the flu. I might of been the only club member entered, don't know. If that's the case then DHBC is only represented in the team pursuit

As a non-trackie can I ask, how come our historically track focused club and 5 yr straight RAW champs only had two-three riders there? are people just doing other things? Is the level too high for most riders? I understand it's masters so that excludes many. Just interested.

And Trouty got two silvers, one each in Scratch & the Points in Women's Masters Combined ( I think that's WMAS1-4 combined).

There were 3 of us representing dhbc on Saturday, our medal winner Trouty, Desmond Kidd and myself.

I was also wondering why there were so few dhbc competitors at the masters. I watched RAw last year and there was a blur of red jerseys on the track. Do we usually have more competitors at the masters and was this a quiet year? Or is it the type of events that interests members? I believe there were some gold, silver and bronze medals that should have gone home with our members

For me, thanks to trouty for her support in my first track race

The blurred red jerseys at RAW were mostly occupied by DHBC juniors and younger adults - not masters age riders. I've heard that masters who have moved on from elite don't slow down much with the years, so I guess I don't expect I would be anywhere near competitive. Mike Clements suggested as much when we entered the Masters Team Pursuit this Sunday together with Colin Williamson. We'll give it a red-hot go and have some fun but I wouldn't hold my breath waiting for photos of us with bits of metal on ribbons around necks.

Actually that's not correct. There were a lot of juniors this year, for the first time. But there were still more than 20 Masters Riders this year and in the year before that close to 25.

I raced last year and had a good time. But it's hard to commit a whole weekend at the moment.
