Hi All,

A great night to be at the track, just the right temperature.

Welcome back to Ruby, first time on the rack after breaking her arm. I hope being thrown straight into it wasn’t too much for you?

Also back were the Clarke family of Oliver, Georgia and Tom.

We had 25 rides a ready to go. Tonight was endurance training so lots of laps

Again James worked with Hugo, Oliver, Louis and Georgia on the warm up track, each venturing out onto the main track when safe.

First up Paceline, each group (A, B & C) riding together, with two groups on the track at a time.

This week group C had the pleasures of Rollers. This week Dougie ran a session of 12 x 40/20 no resistance interval sprints.

On the main track both Group A & B started an 18 Lap Points race. The riders form group B bagged most of the point as the race progressed. With sprints for points every 3 laps. Adam and Rosie fought hard for the leaders points, finishing with 19 and 17 points each. Followed by Mia and Toby, tied for third, on 10 points and Louie came in fourth with 4 points. Great effort by all to finish the 18 laps, a lot of red faces at the end.

While group A & B recovered, group C were back on the track. Win 'n' Out was the event with 11 riders. First to win the sprint was Taku, next Tom Clarke. The field then organised itself into what looked like the order of elimination on the wins. Zanzi, then Sarah, Alison, Rohan, Francis and Tess. The last three riders, Tom Bolton, Jake and Ruby. Tom and Jake sprinted for the line thinking they were the last riders, Tom ahead by a ½ wheel. No the next lap, Jake almost stop before the line as Ruby rounded the last corner. Ruby putting in the most effort of 12 laps.

We finished the session with Motor Pace first to go were Lizanne leading Christian, Louie, William, Xavier, Adam, Mia, Rose and Hugo. After the speed increased and riders started to drop the next group lead by Jake and Tom Bolton consisting of Tom Clarke, Sarah, Alison, Zanzi, Ruby, Francis, Broughton, Tess, Rohan and Toby were away.

Again everyone look exhausted at the end of the session.

Upcoming events

The ANZAC day track carnival in Bowral. On ANZAC day, 25th April, starting 2:30pm. U9’s and up, entries close 7th April. Bowral’s a little bit further that Lidcombe but hopefully we can get another great team together and have a fun day out, cheering for each other.

This Saturday, come rain or shine we have the “Women’s Track”. Girls, come on down. This is on from 3-5pm. See http://www.dhbc.org.au/forum/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=3512 for more details. Again, I won’t be able to help out this week.

This is the first race they have put on for the juniors so they want to keep it fun and casual. I's a great intro to racing at Heffron
