Hi All

20 riders last night, same about the strong head wind on the home straight.

A big welcome to Christian, once we had a bike swap, Lizanne showed him the rope on the warm up track and a couple of lap around the track.

The session started with individual warm ups and then paceline drills

Next, using the 2 lap time trail results, it was a 4 lap wheel race for each group. Staggering the riders 2-3 meters apart. Group A were the first to race with Xavier on scratch and Adam on corner 4. For the first few laps everyone court up and grouped together, then Adam and Isaac pulled away with Isaac ½ a wheel in front of Adam on the line.

Group B with Toby on scratch and Adrien almost between corners 3 and 4. Same again with Luka getting to the head of the bunch, Darani sitting in good position and Ruby third wheel. Luka pulled away on the last lap to win comfortably so the fight was for 2 &3 between Darani and Ruby, both putting in great effort.

Group C was very small this week with Alison on Scratch then Matthew, Rohan and Tom on the back straight. Again the rider came together with Rohan pulling away at the end and Alison second, with Tom coasting in for third followed by Matthew.

Next, Keirin, the new favourite race. First group A. Lizanne as the Derny @ 22kph. 3 laps with the Derny pulling off at 1.5 laps. Some excellent racing as all vied for position, once Lizanne dropped away. Adam first and Melina, on Caitlin’s bike, in second. Adam following Melina until the last corner to come around her for the win.

Group B, 4 laps with 2 behind the Derny @ 25kph. Again all vied for position and followed the Derny. Once Lizanne pulled off, it was on. I had Sarah practice on the drops and in this race, her first on the drops she powered home to win. Adrien and Ruby going at it for second and third. Also of note were Mia and Luke, neither wanting last place so both tied in 6th position.

group C, this time 3 laps Derny and 3 laps sprint. The Small group found it had to follow a wheel with Rohan coming home first, then Alison and Matthew.

That was it, we ran out of time.

Next week’s session will be a mystery session.

Junior’s Christmas BBQ

Save this Date, 19th Dec. the last training session of the year. Don’t go on Holidays early. Bring your Mum and Dad.
We will be holding a BBQ. I will supply the sausages, rolls/bread and sauce. All welcome so please bring a plate/salad to shared.
