Hi All,

Another great turn out with 19 riders.

After individual warm ups and complaints about the light sprinkles of rain, it was Paceline drills.

Next Group C went up onto the roller while the rest completed a 2 lap time trial. Excellent effort by all as the head wind on the back straight slowed a few down.

Next Keirin Races, first to race was Group C, with the help of parents and seniors as handlers all were lined up across the start/finish line. A first for most. James as the Derny, Group C followed for 3 laps then it was on for young and old for the remaining 2 laps. Broughton got the better of Taku, followed by Alison, Francis and Tess. Taku’s first comment after finishing was “can we do that again” I think he wanted a first place finish.

Group B were next, 4 laps with 2 behind the Derny. Once James pulled of Luka sprang to the front and Adrien tried to pull him back but couldn’t quite get there. Darani 3rd followed by Luke, Mia, Sarah and Toby.

Group A next, 3 laps with 1.5 behind the Derny. Again excellent racing, Claude just getting the better of Isaac, Caitlin 3rd then William and Melina.

The comments from the parent and the seniors watching were very positive as the races unfolded.

Due to the time take completing the time trial we didn’t get time to complete an Italian pursuit so we finished with 2 groups motor pacing.

Both Broughton and Taku complain that James pulled up too early with their motor pace at 49kpm!!
