Hi All,

Wow, what a turn out and with 4 of the regulars away we still had 12 riders.
Welcomes to Adrien, Claude and William. First timers on the track, hope to see you back next week.

Lizanne worked hard with Melina, William, Adrien and Claude on the warm up and ventured out onto the track during the brakes in the main training session.

After individual warm up, it was Paceline. Split into 2 groups again, each group are working together and the change overs were smooth and everyone was riding close the wheel in front. Even Fabian’s dad, John, joined in with the older group, great for his first time on the track. Now he knows how hard it can be. Keep peddling, keep peddling, don't stop peddling!!!!!

Next, the jumper/lunchbox drill, each rider performed this once tonight. Everyone now has a good understanding of the drill and all work with the bank to gain speed and enjoy the rush.

Next, from James’ homework. 1 ½ lap match sprints. A cut down version from Lizanne’s session. This is the real races the juniors will be in at events. Unfortunately with the 4 regulars away the matching of pairs was not as close as normal. The first match up was Fabian v Dad, youth powered away and was .06 seconds faster but good to see there is real not much in it between the two and being John first time on the track. Next Francis v Rohan, a good match but Francis was out of the blocks from the go. Next, Toby v Darani, another good race but Toby couldn’t quiet last the distance. Finally, Mia v Caitlin, both putting in a great effort with Mia coming home strongly.

The session time got away from us on the night and the last drill, Motorpace. Thanks to Lizanne and Christian for leading the train.as time was short, the first 5 laps at 25kph and then increasing 2kph every lap after. Early on the train looked good with all riders on the wheel in front. The group splint as the pace increased over 29kph but everyone held in there and kept trying with no one gave up until told to stop. Notes efforts were Rohan staying in contact till the 39kph mark and Francis the 43kph mark.

My comments on above,
The Fuji, great bike, I have one, but the tyres and wheels are 25c not 23c. see if this can be change at the same price.
The Hillbrick, that’s the rrp and you should be able to get a better deal. I got Caitlin’s for way under that.
And there are other brands, Giant, Avanti and more and both Burwood and Ashfield also give club discounts.

Thanks to Lizanne, James and a special thanks to Christian with the motorpace

Till next week

Colin
