Hi Everyone,
some important dates & information for your diary:

28 th March DHBC Juniors BBQ - 6pm Tempe Velodrome
For DHBC Riders their family and friends from other clubs to celebrate a great season and acknowledge our achievements. Come along for a sausage sandwich, salad and goodies. Please RSVP by return email so we know how much food to get. There'll be informal discussions to plan the year ahead for DHBC Junior Track Training, so the more parents that can attend the better! No need to prepare dinner this night - eat at the track then go home and relax!

Junior Track CaptainsNominations are now open for the DHBC 2012 Junior Track male and female Captains. These positions are open to any Junior Members with leadership qualities who are willing to help fellow riders get the most from their track cycling whether racing or training for fun, and who can lead by example. We'll be sending letters to their School Principals to acknowledge their election.

Congratulations

To Tess Wallace who managed three 2nd places and Tom Bolton who won each of his races for DHBC Juniors at the Metro Track titles a couple of weeks ago. Also to Bill Bolton who rode well despite being under the weather.

Training
The rain finally stayed away long enough to put in a training session on the track! Great to see every rider putting in a big efforts The session started with whistle sprints, followed by 250m standing starts. Best times to Jake Greirson with 23.12 and Francis Teow with 27.22. Alison Wallace rode a clever race to win the 3 Lap scratch. Francis fought back to take the 2 Lap Individual pursuit from Alison. Toby came home in front of Caitlin. Francis broke 40 seconds in the 1 Lap time trial and Toby put in a creditable 44.57 at the end of a hard session. :D Gold medals to Caitlin and the other riders who turned up to spin training on the last two rainy Wednesdays - it's really paying off.

Newsy Bits

Sorry to hear Zeke suffered a wee leg fracture in a fall at training in my absence, but he's recovering well by all accounts. We are looking forward to seeing him, Tess and Taku return from injuries soon we hope.

Racing Riders

Simon Bolton has kindly agreed to liaise with David Wilmott regarding training sessions for our racing riders & older juniors. If there's enough interest David can take training at Dunc Gray Stadium on Monday afternoons, but there will be a charge. Please let Simon Bolton know if you're interested. His email address can be found in the list at the top. It'd be a great way to prepare for the RAW (racing at winter) series mid-year at Dunc Gray.

That's all for now,

till next time - keep rolling
