Hi everyone,
Terrific effort from all the riders and their support teams on such a hot evening. We concentrated on shorter events to preserve energy this training session. Welcome to our newest member Darani Gilchrist who had a flying start to her cycling career with two first places in the 1 Lap screamers in her first proper outing on the track. Congrats also to Taku on the 1 lap scratch race - Taku very nearly broke the 18 second mark in his first efforts at the Flying 200 metre time trial as well! Medals also to Tess and Mia Wallace who rode hard for the line in each race to create some close and exciting finishes - we hope sister Alison got through her school work and makes a return next week. Good Flying 200 times also for Jake and Tom Bolton in the hot windy conditions - Jake is managing improved times at each session. We enjoyed watching Hugo Venville and Bill Bolton doing their "Kilo Maddison" too. Full statistics have been emailed as usual.

Hi to Zeke - we hope you're feeling better soon. :(

Thanks and vitual medals also to the support team of James, Stuart, Sally, Jenny, Angela and Rob who shared the handling, recording and safety monitoring during the session.

Training Hint
Try to do at least 5 minutes work on the rollers each session and in no time you'll get the hang of them. Rollers are a really good way to get your body ready for racing and training without using too much muscle power. It's also really important in the hot weather months that you remember to drink small amounts frequently during your training session - if you put your bottle in the crates on the railing near the entrace to the track, you can ride up to them for a drink instead of having to dismount.

Special Mentions :D
Taku for riding the roller with hand off the railing and to Tess and Mia who took several laps up the bank.

Membership
If you need to apply for a "ride for all" or racing licence or renew your existing licence here's the link:

Don't forget to scroll down to find the "JOIN NOW" button. When your membership is processed you'll receive you card throught the post - until then your printed receipt will suffice. Riders not planning to race yet should apply for a "ride for all" licence - which is less expensive and covers you for training sesssion with the club and organised training rides on the road.

That's all for this week,
till next time - keep rollling
