Is this followed by a trip to Oktoberfest at the German Club??

If it is, then would need to be Next Saturday, 1st October.

Oktoberfest only runs until the first weekend in October. This year it runs until October 3rd.

Since the topic is titled Octoberfest, you could say it is more about the October bit than a misspelling of the beer festival.

Keep us posted on the date; I'm also away on the long weekend.

PS - I love the photo of the steel bridgestone bikes with DA hubs on the wheels

I was going to hold this event this weekend but there was too many people away. I'm not sure now when it will run. I was going to have the halloween 'night under lights' omnium/party later in the month too but as this event didn't run when I thought it would, I'll have to decide which one to hold.

Ok. I've penciled in a date for this one that doesn't clash with anything that I can see & works for me. Whether or not it will be motorized with be dependent on me getting a rider. But date & time as followed assuming that there is no issues booking the velodrome.

Where: Tempe velodrome
When: Saturday the 19th of November
What time: Racing will start at 5:30pm, gates will probably open about an hour earlier.
Who can come: Racing is designed and sanctioned for everyone in the club with a racing licence.
Races: as in original

& yes we will have the a BBQ with suitable beverages!!!

SO come along have a feed and enjoy some racing....

Yeah I'll work on this one next but I might move the start time to 5:30 pm to avoid the heat and it is better for me.

Lindsay is going to book the track for this Saturday 18/11/2011.

Racing will start at 5:30pm. We will have a bbq. Not sure about the motor bike yet but we have some fun racing anyhow.

Cheers Simon.

Just as a guide, here's a video of Victoria Pendleton she hits about 75km/hr behind the motorbike in her flying lap!

I can honestly say that should I ever hit 75km/h on my track bike, I will not look that good.

Yeah she doesn't even seem like she is breathing that hard. Really bummed I missed this one again, Lizanne told me about it today - I haven't been keeping up with the forums of late. I am on house painting support duty :( today. Look forward to hearing the reports.

It was a great event, thanks to those who organised, motorpaced, cooked, timed and competed.
