STOP PRESS
I know a number of you are considering buying a track bike. Terry Freshwater who trains with us regularly at DHBC is selling at 48cm Hillbrick track bike which may interest you. If you want to find out more, call Terry on 0407 922 937. It is a small frame and would suit younger riders. It's red alloy, and comes with study wheels and brakes to attach for road riding. The seat is included and it's in excellent condition.

Hi Everyone,

Two beaut training sessions this week in arctic conditions. Results have been emailed for your records. I'm pleased to report Tom and Bill Bolton have recovered from a heavy fall on Monday and were back training Wednesday, like the troupers they are. Medals for both of them, and for their dad Simon Bolton for his first ever Flying 200m!

With Phil Kelly away this week, we took the opportunity to use a less crowded track to enhance racing skills. Congratulations to Francis Teow for posting his first Flying 200m time of 21 seconds. Chris Hageman took two first places in the 3 lap Sprint Derby and the Miss & Out race, but he had to dig deep to beat Bill Bolton by just half a wheel in the sprint. Chris also posted the fatest time properly recorded in the Flying 200m (apologies to Bill for problems with his time) Fantastic to see Alex Kapruziak back after a bit of a break - he's improved noticeably posting a competative Flying 200m time and finishing 2nd in the Miss & Out - has he been doing secret training? Tony Achjian and Tom Bolton also put in competative times, both posting 15.5.

Welcome to two prospective members, Denali and Keanu Blunden and their father Dale. Information to obtain licences to train with DHBC Juniors is re-printed below for their convenience:

Licences
A licence is required to participate in track riding. The easiest way to get one is on-line at Cycling Australia via the link below:
http://www.cycling.org.au/?ID=39176

Tips to help if the link fails
1. Go to www.cycling.org.au
2. Pull down the Membership Tab
3. Choose "Membership Categories"
4. Scroll to the END of the page
5. Click on "JOIN NOW"
6. Follow the prompts

If you wish to train but not race, choose a "Ride for All" licence. This can be upgraded if you decide to start racing later. The Ride for All licence also covers you if you do road or mountain biking riding with the club. Age groups go in two year increments from U9-U19. If you turn nine this year, even if your birthday in in December, you would race in the U11 group for example.

That's all for this week,
Keep rolling!
