As per last year; this will be an international keirin styled carnival in which all riders will be required to nominate a country which they can relate to. They must then do their best to dress in the colours of this country but more importantly bring a dish to eat from that country!!!!

Where: Tempe velodrome
When: Saturday the 25th of June
What time: Racing will start at 4pm, gates will probably open about half an hour earlier.
Who can come: Racing is designed and sanctioned for everyone in the club with a racing licence.
Races: scratch races, country defined team events and to finish an international keirin!!!

NOTE: Riders do not have to have any historical ties to the country they select but most importantly must be able to obtain food from that country. It would be best if we get a wide range of countries so we have a fiest. I will supply a basic bbq as well to ensure we have good eating!!!!

SO come along have a feed and enjoy some racing....

***Subject to the veune being confirmed...

Will you be bringing the hagis then, Andrew James McGregor Belford? I, as Holland, will be bringing beer/chips/tiny little ginger windmill-shaped biscuits. And my orange jersey.

I am not sure that this is in the spirit this event. Last year I chose the republic of congo so that we did not have two Ireland's. Until there are so many riders that people need to double up, one of you should choose a country not already listed & since you were second to nominate Mike...

There is still no countries from Asia being represented, it is very easy to buy asian food in these parts & the red jersey could quite easy represent a communist state, like china.

As luck would have it, I've found a recipe for "vegan haggis"on the 'net. (Be afraid, be very afraid.) [Just hoping though that it doesn't begin with "first, catch your vegan".]

^^ Does that mean you're bringing chocolate? If so, I'm in!

Seriously though, need to figure out if I'll be around that weekend. In the mean time I will think of a country with food I actually want to make.

Sorry B grade keirin I didn't write the reults down!!!!
In the B grade ("Ladies") keirin my recollection of the results was:

1. Julio
2. Andrew
3. Camilla
4. Eleri

Thanks for organising this Simon et al. It was fun and the food was especially good. Memorably, the vegan haggis, those Finnish things or that fantastic Greek dessert all of which were new to me.

No shame in winning the ladies grade... There were some fine women bringing up the rear!

And my aim is to not be quite so last next time! Can only improve from that position.

My first ever Omnium. Thanks everyone and to Simon for organizing...
