In conjunction with nsw bike week DHBC will be having an omnium, which will be fixed set events aimed at entertaining a crowd. It would be great to see a veriety of racing and a variety of different ages and genders involved but people will need tyo sign up in advance so that it is well organised on the day.

Where: Canterbury Velodrome (tempe)
When: from 10am to 2pm
Who can come: Everyone!!!!
Will there be a bbq: Yes!!!!

The events will be finalised this week an then people will be able to sign up to ride particular events by posting on this thread. It is likely to be a massive event which will attract a large crowd & should be lots of fun!!!!

If there was prize money and Crafty announced it at RAW, you'd probably get a few more takers...
I'd put $100 toward something like a team pursuit. If the win was $100 per rider, you'd get some clubbies along I reckon.

I'm not really looking for big money/ big fields because that equals big crashes & that's definitely not what we would be trying to acheive with demo racing. The council wants an inicident free day from us with minimal risk.

But I would like a prize for the juniors wheel race if you are offering?

Cheers Simon.

I have a 1 hour spin class in the morning, so I'm happy to help out in some official form, otherwise I'm make up the rear of the field

Cheers Mike, I'll put you down! I'm meeting up with Colleen from the council tomorrow night, so I'll let you know what is needed.

The racing is planned to be pretty easy going so maybe it will be an official job & a bit of riding. We'll see.

Yeah! I'm totally there. Nothing can stop me this time. I'll be fresh of the plane from Amsterdam at 8am and surely no one can put anything in my way in that timeframe!

G'day all, the time is coming where we need to begin who's racing:

The schedule is begginning to take shape. Currently it looks like a flying 200/sprint derby, points race, juniors wheel race, Tandem/penny farthing challenge, Team pursuit callenge (women v juniors?) & a madison.

So far the following people I have down to do something else and thus will assume will also be racing unless they say otherwise, but please add your name to the list :

1. Simon L
2. Christian L
3. Alex C
4. Tim L
5. David B
6.

Actually, Stuart and I should be able to come down for the first hour - before we have to leave for the wedding...possibly photo duties?

if no one tells you any thing to do before hand, im sure if you turn up on the day there will be things to do, even if they are drinking coffee and eating things :)

Well I don't want to turn up on the day and discover the "cooking sausages" job is the only one on offer. I don't know that I would be able to offer good advice on "what to wear while cycling" given limited colour palette in my own wardrobe. Is matching hats and gloves still the right approach?

I thought only men were supposed to operate the bbq machine....

Hey Eleri, just bring your track bike and have a race. We need lots of contenders or we'll all get tired out keeping the entertainment going!

Yes, well there is that track bike problem. Combined with no clue - might certainly be entertaining for others!

There's plenty of jobs still available, all very easy!!! Though I'm not sure that the bbq is one of them.

I'll put you down EMT.

Starts at 10am with flying 200ms & then a sprint derby. There will be about 4 different events throughout the day & you don't have to ride them all.

I don't think we're having a penny race, just a demonstration. I'm not willing to risk the Penny sliding down the banking.
