Bump

The Sydney Sprint Series is all about match sprinting. It is a chance for competitiors that are U17’s up Women, Masters, Elite etc to compete and test your sprint skill against an opponent of similar speed. To start off all riders compete in a 200 m fly which seeds and sorts riders into sub groups of 8.All riders experience 3 seeded rounds in which the final round detemines your overall position. The Racine starts at 10am and depending on how many people turn up, finish by 2pm. Entries to be prefferably completed by 10.20am.

The Sydney Sprint Series is a trial event. It is hoped that the event will prove popular and successful, in which case we will endeavour to run the event 3 or more times a year

PRIZES

1st Outright wins $200 cash
2nd wins $100
3rd wins $50

I'm in, although never done a sprint series before. Rolling around slow on the first 2 laps scares me a little. I guess Ive fallen of Dunc Gray before so another pair of patch nix and broken skin isn't going to hurt me.

Even though I lost more rounds than I won (loss 3 / won 2), this was the best fun I have had in any carnival. A great chance to concentrate on pure sprinting races against people of similar speed. Most of us got 4 or 5 races in (+ the flying 200) for the day, and a chance to actually view all the riders you know and their different tactics. A really great tactical race to watch was the one with Tim taking the victory over David Brown. Hugo surprised me on how much better he has improved and he rode some really exciting races. Lots of other mentions for the day - but that is all I can remember for this time in the morning.

I was also really impressed with Hugo, he had some great races where his tactics were excellent for the person he was racing against. Also Tim - it was great to see you come from behind and beat brownie, I knew you had him and to see you pull back from 10-15m was really great to watch.
I also had heaps of fun, a great experience even though I didn't win much. If there was another one, I would be the first one through the door!

I think even Crafty was surprised at how fast you qualified as the new guy. The race against Lee was pretty good too- and she is no snail. SOme close matches between you and Kye - where Kye's experience won on the day.
