Hi all,

If the track open at Tempe Velodrome rains out tomorrow, Saturday the 6th of February (starting 6pm) then we have decided that due to complications in time, the cost and logistics it will not be possible to run it at Dunc Gray & instead we will meet at Tempe get as many races in as possible and have a bbq.

So what this means is we will be at Tempe velodrome tomorrow at 5pm onwards and if it is possibble to run any race we will & if not we will have the bbq.

Cheers Simon.

Beer, BBQ.....some coke zero (thanks Simon), what else can a girl want? Be a shame if it rains but a bit of socialising won't hurt.

well, that was probably the hardest track race i've ever done. i'm now as exhausted as is humanly possible...and i came second last in everything.

Admittedly it always makes you feel that little bit better not to come absolutely last. Good on you Hugo for racing...plenty of time for you to move up the chain.

Thanks for everyone so so quickly hopped in and helped with the BBQ. I enjoyed the egg.

It made me wonder if Dulwich Hill should have this event every 3 months (not as an official open) The attendance was great in the conditions. I know a lot of hard work went into this and it would be a pity if it was wasted

It would be great to have a DHBC carnival every quarter, the attendance yesterday shows there is a lot of support - even from people in our club that don't have a racing licence.

Hey all, I've been thinking about this event & it will be re-run. But it is unlikely that it will be run as an open as we had alot of discontent from people travelling from the country when it rained out & it should just be about fun.

The program took alot of work to create and I think at a minimum will be run late feb/early march as an omnium/club race in which the full program will be used, including the use of state handicapps for the wheel race, probably without prize money at this stage or possibly less & a $5 entry fee but this I need to work out.

I will have to consult cycling nsw about the entry fees for the weekend, it is unlikely they will be returned but you will probably get
race credit in which you will need to submit a manual entry form.

But I'm really looking forward to running the awesome program that was written so that everyone can have some really fun racing!!!!

Cheers Simon.

If you put it on Saturday March 6 I promise to make 2 cakes! It's my birthday. Which means you'll all have to let me win the wheel race. And I'll want Simon S to make one of those embarrassing announcements, like when you're 13 at the ice-skating rink, and maybe dedicate a song to me. Maybe something out of Dirty Dancing.

But seriously, I totally agree. Simon L put together a great programME and it would a) be a shame to see it go to waste and b) be really fun to ride.

Yeah a shame we missed the program at the Open. I was looking forward to Simon S and Simon L's commentating.. they could have been the next Roy and HG.

.....What Dirty Dancing song would we request for Camilla?....how about "She's like the wind (Patrick Swayze)". I could imagine Camilla doing a lap of the track with that in the background. Pity UB40's "Red Red Wine" wasn't on the sound track, that would be more fitting.
