It was suggested on monday evening that we have a mixed couples madison as the final event for this saturdays ominium. Im rather liking the idea. Any takers?

Be careful with the swings!

I'd just like to state that I plan on dominating this event, even though I also plan on riding waterfall in the morning :D and yeah on the end of a massive week..(I haven't worked out how I will beat simon or any alex's yet though..)

Guys it's now looking unlikely as Jess can't come & won't let me hold hands with any other girls!

Well after last nights successful mixed couple maddison practise run.....I think if we had 3 or 4 teams it could be a nicle little light hearted race and some good fun. Amy said she would be in, and I just need to check if Camilla is doing the Omni this weekend, but we will definately have 3 teams maybe 4. If not.....there are a few DHBC blokes that could pass as women.

Jess....all the girls have promised to refrain from holding Simon's hand and have paired up with other riders in fear of your wrath. Now that you won't be there - he can be an official time keeper or judge (and there won't be any need for me to protest re favouratism).

Mixed couple maddison - BRING IT ON!!!

Yes! I'm in! (just got your text Jo - can't reply because I'm out of credit). My life has finally sorted itself out. I'm off to italy for 2 months on Thursday and intent to spend the ENTIRE weekend on a bike. In fact I've started today. Just got back from a very pleasant ride with Mark L (hi Tim -we saw you whizzing past) and am heading out again now. No idea where to but I'll wrok that out as I go.

So who wants me on Saturday? It has to be either Tim or Christain, so that we can wear our Jittery Joes outfits.

Does it matter that I've never done a Maddison change before?

Last night was fun... painful, but fun. I'm looking forward to Saturday.

How many laps are we going to make it?

Ive paired up with Alex (don't start any rumours), and I gather Christian will be with Victoria. Simon will pair you guys up with some one on the weekend so it will be fair, and a bit of a laugh anyway. I am guessing Timmy L and Timmy Othy are free?? I will leave it up to Simon.

You can do some practice changes on Saturday, it's not like the race will be going at lighting speed as we have to keep it pretty safe. Glad you can make it before your Italy Tour. See you Saturday.

I'm cool to miss out if there aren't enough couples, I'm thinking I'm now a bit over trained for the event, and don't want to let down the rider I ride with!

I tried to get some photos for the rumor mill last night but my phone camera wasn't up to it.

See you at the Ominum, but I'll be a little late as I'll be at work

I suddenly realised this morning, as I yelped getting out of bed, that there's no way I could do a Maddison at the moment. My rib still hasn't healed and I can't put any force through my left arm. I'd neither be able to throw someone with it, nor keep the bike upright with just my left hand while being thrown. Might have to just watch instead.

....Wasn't it mixed maddison? Did anyone notice that Simon's partner was indeed not a woman?????

I think I have claims to put in an official protest.

Officially Simon and boyfriend have been disqualified.

I think you'll have to fight NSW Equal Opportunity Board first for discrimination based on sex. 8)

Being the official for the day, I'm happy to acknowledge your protest & respect your concern but based on the fact the Tim, Alex & Christian now have to face up to the fact that they were beaten by Mark in a track race I can't act on it.

I have about 120 more but I haven't uploaded them. They're uncompressed at present, 4 megs each. I'll give you the memory stick to copy if you want?

Use one of those programs that does bulk changes to jpeg, bring them down to say 640*480 50k and the bulk upload them.

That was officially my first Omnium after my knee failure last time.

It was lots of fun, particularly the Madison which very nearly killed me. I think I let my team down a bit towards the end as I just didn't have anything left in the tank. Lucky we did 30 laps and not 40!

Mark Hales really creamed us all in the Snowball, trying to chase him down was probably what wore me out for the Madison - nice tactic ;)
