Don't get too hung up about crank length, foot velocity is more relevant. To keep it simple, 175 with a 50t chain ring is equivalent to 170 with a 49t chain ring or 165 with a 48t chain ring

Re: Anzac Day Ride
Unfortunately for me that egg shaped lump on my shin expanded quickly when I got home, eventually exploding. Sadly my leg will need to be amputated below the knee. But the good news is that the doctor says I should still be ok to ride one legged. The other really good news is that the bike is not d...

[the other] Peter T lent me his bike box when I went down to the Australian Masters Track Champs. Flight Down Virgin. I had 2 checked baggage allowances of 23kg each booked and the box weighed in at 27kg. I was informed that they didn't combine luggage, most annoying as it was the only bag we were c...

I'm visiting Wollongong tomorrow (Easter Friday) so I'd thought I'd ride down and catch a few extra hills. I'm riding one way, but nothing stopping you riding home

Looking at fielding 4 masters teams, however we have an uneven number of riders.
If there are any other male master riders that are interested, could you please PM me your email address
Cheers Mike

Jokes aside, is the problem actually the bag or how its packed? If it's the bag, then what kinda back support do you need?

Simon, James and i are working on matching up male riders of similar speed.
Adam, Rob and any others, could you please PM me your email address, age as at 31/12/2014 and a description of your racing.
Hopefully we can get even teams, which makes it more fun

Re: Team Time Trials - 19th July 2014 at Nowra
Ideally we want to be of similar performance in the same team. Not always possible.Maybe one way of splitting the teams is to record elapsed time for 5 laps of Centennial Park
A better gauge of performance is to come out to ATTA at Calga on 4th of May and do the 25k ITT

I've entered the hill climb, which I assume I'll suck in. Crit will depend on grading. Haven't decided on the sportif
Simon, for the hill climb, am I over geared on 39-23. I do have a 25 cassette I could swap on

Bathurst racing and sportif this weekend
Surprised not to see a thread on this.
Entries are still open for the Saturday NSW Hill climb champs and the Bathurst Crit. I suspect they will be closed sometime today.
The Sportif on Sunday is still open and its available to a ride-it license, race license not required.

Re: NSW Criterium Champs Saturday 29th March at Sydney Dragw
Actually, this does sound tempting, provided the weather clears up. Any idea what masters grades will race, as it seems they only have an hour in which to run them? And what is the dragway course like - is it similar to the speedway? The masters will be graded, ie A, B, C. Number of grades depends ...
