Well I do a sprint even when I'm with myself. Thats my choice. The sprint at the end is part of the training, it is not a race. I will continue to do the sprint when I consider it safe to do so. Sprinting to the top of that hill is plain stupid, why would be be sprinting into a blind interestion. Wh...

Approx 50% of my Sunday rides this year have been RNP. My preference for RNP is Audley in, Waterfall out because I prefer to still do the mad mile. On the Waterfall ride, I consider the first section from Waterfall bridge to be the most dangerous, as you have a narrow shouder with a 100kph speed lim...

Once we are past the initial section and end up in the left lane (no shoulder), the road is fine all the way unitl just before the end. The sprint at the end depends on how many and who the riders are. And comon sense prevails. On Sunday neither James M or myself participated in the sprint as it sim...

My other issue was missing out on 2 stages of the Cyclingnews Fantasy Giro James, that's funny. You must be feeling a lot better if thats on your mind. I use the Tacx Tao ones on the Cervelo http://www.probikekit.com/display.php?code=a1149 While they don't have a lip to hold the bottle in, I haven't had a problem with the bottles coming out unless I want them to. They grip the bottle very well. They tend to be pricey in Australia, but only about $...

I'm tired of my alloy water bottle holders scratching/marking the bottles.

I'm not sure if its the rider that James hit, but a guy got a flat and had no choice but to pull out onto the road, there was no opportunity for him to move left as he was in the right hand lane of bikes, with no gaps to his left. Now I'm guessing that James may of been moving along the outside of t...

I should add that I was quite pleased with my result, I had bad legs before the race, had suffered a cramp just riding there, suffered constant cramps during the race and still managed to get myself near the pointy end for the sprint, but I knew the sprint wasn't going to be mine that day, as I didn...

Can we still keep the bike down to 6.8kg ?Sounds like a plan, otherwise i'm sure a bed trailer would be viable. They also made this one http://www.digave.com/couch/band.htm, definitely needed a Tandem for it.

On the mad mile at Sutherland, we are going so fast after running down the hill just past the last set of lights, that I run 53/11 going up the hill and continue to use the 53/11 all the way to the sprint line. At Heffron, I doubt that I'd ever use higher than 53/13 in the sprint. What gearing you u...

DHBC Jerseys
Dropped by at Cell Bikes today and brought a pair of the $19 pants. While I was there, Keirans old boss came out so I cracked a joke about Keiran still making sales for him, even though he isn"t there anymore. Anyway I mentioned the DHBC Jerseys and he said that Lindsay had spoken to him once a...

According to my LACC mate, its windy and the riders get strung out in a single line, meaning that you are at risk if you are too far back of being dropped due to a split. I'm better on a hilly circuit such as lansdowne or centennial ride for life. Some of the MMAS 4/5 riders are A Club, so I'll be l...

Simon you are a strong/powerful rider. I see for riders like you the ability of the bike to get the power to the ground as more important than the lightness of the bike. Cost wise, the sales on bikes are about 3 months off, when next years models come in. I am inclined to agree with James F that the...
