Re: Easter Monday Kurnell Kruize for C25s anyone?

After eating eggs and talking about the Strava-Garmin reality vs ordinary memory in the rain at Kurnell, my Garmin failed and I lost the ride! Hope I don't lose the memory!

Thanks again to Simon, Tod and James for a smooth ride into and out of the rain. Looking forward to the next one.

Re: Prescription cycling sunglasses recommendations?

My optometrist sold me a pair of 720 Armour (www.720-armour.com) sunglasses with clear prescription insert and clear, yellow and smoky lenses, very similar to the Rudy Rydons. Slightly cheaper and the lenses are one-piece and very easy and quick to change whilst the pace-line is explained under the ...

Re: Prescription cycling sunglasses recommendations?

My optometrist sold me a $500 pair of sunglasses (including prescription requiring lens grinding) very similar to the Rudy Project Rydons (on which I had pretty well decided). They have a clip-in prescription piece that I chose not to have photochromatised and the clip-in clear, yellow, polarised da...

Re: Prescription cycling sunglasses recommendations?

Nozzle and Weiyun - thanks. First thing Monday a visit to my optometrist! I like the Rudy clip-on option as it frees up the choice of lenses and allows for a single update for the deteriorating sight of a deteriorating 60 odd year old.

Re: Prescription cycling sunglasses recommendations?

Thanks everyone. My choices have been whittled down to:

a. Aviators and break Rule #36
b. Rudy Rydons with prescription inserts and break the bank!

I will post my final decision.

Re: Prescription cycling sunglasses recommendations?

In order so far: Weiyun - agree with actual fitting rather than online guessing. Rudy recommendation noted. Thanks. Shrubb face - told laser not an option for my stigmata(sic?). Thanks. Philip - does the, what appears to be a close fit on your forehead, keep the wind out? Rule #36 by non-mention wou...

Prescription cycling sunglasses recommendations?

Am looking for a pair of sunglasses that keep the wind out and can accommodate my visually-challenged prescription. Unfortunately I can't wear contacts and am a danger to the public without eye-wear. The interwebs overwhelm with options. Anyone found the perfect pair or an alternative solution - may...

Re: Sunday Bunches - Do you like this possible option?

Having just ridden my first 2 Waterfall C25's I can't comment on the phase shifts, power failures and surges of those before me, but I would like to suggest another (once a month?) Sunday bunch ride: Kurnell C25. For the new (and older in my case) rider it is a vast and daunting chasm to cross from ...

Sounds good, count me in (weather permitting).

But I would still like to try a Waterfall C25 sometime soon, so hoping they don't disappear!

Re: Easy paced Kurnell ride - January 20

Thanks Greg and Dougie. Let people know what you are doing seems fair enough. But drifting to the back from the front of the huge Kurnell bunch yesterday and then overtaking them would put a big dent energy-wise in a break away plan! ;-)

Re: Easy paced Kurnell ride - January 20

A big thanks (as big as the peloton) to Jessica, Geoff, Simon and Jeremy for making my first bunch ride (other than Saturday Slowies) a totally enjoyable experience this morning. Looking forward to the next one - next Sunday!? Wondering what the etiquette or rules are for breaking away from the bunc...
