Hello Jonboy. You don't need to qualify. You just need to be a financial member of DHBC for 2 months prior (this is to stop wringers suddenly joining a club on the Friday). Checking the results from last year, at least for the geriatrics (150+), winning time was 57mins and best DHBC effort was 1hr 4mins, avg 37kph.

I was attracted this the fibre flare - bought one - but it packed up after a month or so and I sent it back for a refund. I might have just got a dud. I wasn't that impressed with battery life either.

I can vouch for the effectiveness of this little beaut having witnessed it only very occasionally when I was behind Lizanne today.

Looks good but I would prefer to see the modern DHBC circles removed from the front. The DHBC is more discretely hidden within the cartouche.

The current design is mixed modern / retro look. Less is more in my view.

With the year drawing to a close, I'm interested to know what the average is for a DHBC rider. I have a very short commute and don't do any racing.

Good luck - you might experience some weather along the way.

The most dangerous part of the ride might even be the morning swim. Watch out for those great whites that breed off Stockton beach.

I'm in too. I really enjoyed last year. I recall that it was hot, windy but mostly very scenic. My only gripes were the lack of signage at times, the lack of tax deductible status for the entry fee, and the the bus and trailer to the station was a bit rough and ready with no ropes, straps or padding...
