Cadel 24/7 – Photography from the 2011 Tour de France

Hello everyone! As Secretary of the club I often get contacted by people wanting to promote various things. I normally gently turn them down, but last week sports photographer Mark Gunter wrote a very nice email inviting us to the opening of his exhibition on the 2011 TdF, and that did seem worthy o...

Adventure Rides 2011-6am 11th Sep: The 3 Gorges

Thanks Stuart for a top day out! I've long wanted to do the 3 gorges properly. And a beautiful ride it was. I still can't believe made it - to the start that is.

Happily installed on the coach now, with last night's BBQ leftovers.

2011 - Tempetation- Fixie Century Coastal - 16/10/2011

Brilliant. Thanks Lizanne! See, you don't hate me. You will after this though: I'm heading overseas on Wednesday and am unlikely to see anyone before then to hand over the loot. But I'll think of something.

Um, where are Lizanne and Chubbs in the latest starters list, and who's running the books? Mike - why are you not riding? I'm sure we'd look tops in matching jerseys. And Eleri, I'm willing to go Welsh, if that's what it takes.

Amy - Riding the bike trail from Wang is amazing! You get the entire world to yourself. Just you and the cows and the birds. Only trick is to take food! It was so early that nothing was open for the first 70km when I did it, and some of the 'towns' on the map are nothing but a pub (sadly shut at tha...

Yep! My favourite (one-day) ride of the year by far. The whole week is excellent, in and around Bright. Amazing cycling, beautiful scenery, fabulous company, great food, and as the week goes on more and more cars covered in bikes roll into town. There's nothing else quite like it.

Too true: Eleri rode a spectacular time but her group is TOUGH! My time would have given me 6th in het category I believe. And what I said before about having to beat someoneto get to a bronze - I didn't mean that in an negative way, just that I that I really didn't think I had it in me at right now...

Yes, as per usual the DHBC Masters Ladies had most of their adventures prior the the race itself. After getting there in the nick of time (thankfully we had also chosen to ignore Eleri's GPS, which was telling us to take a left at one point - onto a road under a bridge 20m below) I was just grateful...

Thanks Tim! I'm well chuffed! Pretty soft category it has to be said, but I did have to beat someone, and given my current physical state I'm very very happy. Who am I kidding: even if I was in fighting form I'd be very very happy. Best weekend ever! Looks like Mike got a bronze too. Cracking time! ...

A message from CNSW: Dear Camilla It has come to our attention that there was a technical error with the race entry system on Sunday night which restricted many riders from entering the ITT. That photo of Hoogerland made my jaw drop. It's still on the floor. I was watching the carnage last night and saw all the worst bits live. Riders being fished out of the bushes, Vino's leg obviously not in the right spot, Van den Broek & Willems out of it on the side of the road. But that incide...

Thank goodness! Thanks Mike - I realise now that the ITT course is 5km less and more downhill than the usual atta Calga course. 16 mins out of 51 seemed a lot to have to drop! I still have a battle on my hands, but don't feel quite as doomed.
