I cannot get my heart any higher than that. Even when I did my VO2Max test, I only hit 169bpm.

From what I gather, the best way to increase your lactate threshold is to do interval training.

You also have to watch on days like this when it hasn't rained for a while. The cars dump oil on the road, which then gets lifted by the slight rain, which makes it even worse.

I know that I ride a lot more carefully in the wet compared to the dry.

Mike I haven't proposed it to anyone, so just us, and maybe your Waratah Vets ring in... As we will be passing Renegade at about 6:30am, there may be some rolling out then, at that point, they may join us, or depending on where they are going, we can opt to join them. Most Renegade Rides are about t...

Route will be through Annandale, Balmain, Drummoyne, Lane Cove, then Pacific Highway to Mona Vale Rd, then to Terry Hills, then out to West Head.

If we left the 7-11 at about 6am, then as per New Years Day Ride, I would imagine that we would be back by 11am.

Unlike the 3 gorges ride, there is only one real stopping point (West Head), but that is often a longer stop.

Mike

Do you have any time limit? There doesn't seem to be a Renegade Ride on, and I am thinking of doing West Head, expect about 108km from my place (Stanmore Rd).

Sunday is the first Sunday of the Month, so I would prefer to miss the RNP on Saturday.

Introduce yourselves

Happy New Year Everyone! On todays ride, Eugene made an interesting point. He was unaware that I was the user Jimmy on the forum, and as a result he was a bit reluctant to chat in some of the forums. For some of the club regulars on the rides, we often know each other quite well, so we can work out ...

For those who did this ride (Adrian and Eugene), here is the event that we saw all of the runners doing at the Berowra Ferry http://www.coolrunning.com.au/fatass/hq/index.php?title=Beyond_The_Black_Stump All up it was a good fun ride, pretty good pace. We picked up two riders at Renegade, so there w...

Just a reminder (for those who have done a RNP ride with me recently).

When I say 6am, I mean 6am...

Also, I have invited some of the Renegade Riders as well, I haven't heard anything back, but we will be stopping at Renegade and rolling out from there at 6:40am.

OK, from what I understand there was a ride planned on Boxing Day for Galston/Berowra/Bobbin (GBB), this is why I proposed West Head. So, as Eugen pointed out, GBB is a shadier route, and as long as the ferry is running, it is an enjoyable ride. So... Lets do it backwards. Bobbin Head, Berowra Water...

It would depend on how much we stop. I would imagine that a good get away time would be about 6am at the latest, (preferably earlier). West head is about a 110km trip, so I would expect that we could return by 10am if you are prepared to push. I wouldn't imagine that we would be much later than 11am...

North ride on New Years Day?

I typically do nothing special on NYE, so I am up for a ride on Tuesday (1/1/08) next week. I was thinking of something north. Originally Galston/Berowra/Bobbin, but it looks like some of you did that yesterday. Other options include something like West Head or I am open to other suggestions. I am h...

Well done Geoff! It is just before the Tram Tracks at Loftus Oval. he can turn his rear wheel around to get a free wheel out of it. It is still a single speed, but he can freewheel.

Personally, I wouldn't want to race a fixie round that course, it is too technical, and when the hammer drops, it is too easy to get a pedal strike when cornering.

Weiyun, you were right, $8 was for a single spring, and you need two per lever. Even so, $16 to repair them is a lot better than a replacement cost (about $500 in Australia). I picked up the springs last night and started the reassembly process. At the end of the day it wasn't that difficult, a litt...
