Re: Sunday ride to the Otford pie shop

Thanks all for a great ride. I will be cautious to not miss the assumption that we indeed would ride via RNP.

And thanks to all with assisting me with my tyre blowout. I've added some new MacGuyver skills to my repertoire.

Cheers,
Noel

Re: Multiple cassettes

This is a little off topic. I have a joining link and take the chain off to clean it. Does it matter whether or not it goes back on the in the same direction? Both ends look identical, so unless I mark one somehow, there a is 50/50 chance of it going on back to front. Paul I know this one. There is...

Multiple cassettes

Thinking of switching out a cassette for one more favourable for climbing. What is the rule re: chains? Do I need a chain for each cassette or can I switch cassettes and keep the same chain? I regularly check the stretch. Is this enough to ensure I don't trash two cassettes? Advice is appreciated. U...

Re: Prescription cycling sunglasses recommendations?

FYI - my Rudy's are full prescription ImpactX lenses. No clip ons required. You get the benefit of corrected peripheral vision over inserts. Also less to clean and fog under testing conditions. That is why they cost $1k. The lenses come from overseas and are ground and fitted to you.

Re: Prescription cycling sunglasses recommendations?

I've had a set of Rudy Project for around three years. I've had to replace the frames at year 2 as the frames corroded with my sweat but were still functional. The lenses are photochromatic so I can use them all year around. Cost was around $1k so not cheap but they get the use and if you are with p...

Saturday Base Km's

I'm aiming to head out for an easy Sat morning ride (weather permitting). Is anyone else doing likewise? I'd like to hit the road by 6am but must be back home by 10ish) Flexible on direction though.

Re: I was hit by a car- Insurance help

Also to note they have omitted what type of TCR they saw on Gumtree. Furthermore, Who honestly has a carbon frame repaired? Would the cash offered cover a new frame and a rebuild? What else was damaged? I'd suggest sending a letter of demand to the driver if no love with insurance company. Then hit ...

Re: Incident on Sunday near Sutherland

I'd still sprint. It's my fave bit of the ride. Might be a good idea to move the official sprint point back though as suggested. Agree there is a risk anywhere on the ride. We accept that risk when we set off each Sunday and crashes happen (I've got some nice scars to show for it too). If you want o...

Re: Waterfall return section: what to do at Farnell Ave ligh

I personally roll through there on every waterfall run. RBCC bunches I've ridden with do likewise. Agree that RTA should do better with management of the traffic. The only solution would involve segregating the traffic with a barrier or similar. How does one voice concerns of this intersection to th...

Re: Sunday Bunches - Do you like this possible option?

I agree with Christian that there is no real need for an additional bunch. My fitness is coming back now and I'll be riding with the fast bunch (or try to) in coming weeks. No issue with getting dropped as I'm used to it from last years efforts. Rhys and I almost had a regular duo ride from Sutho to...

Thanks all for the suggestions. Will be a case of trial and error. I did hit some hills but got a little lost in Dullo looking for some decent ramps. Did hit wardell but was quite short but punchy. Hill Training Ride Suggestions Please....

I'm due to start ramping up my training with some after work extended commutes. My Friday session is to include hills. Can Andover suggest a ride that will meet the following criteria: 1. Start in CBD 2. Finish in the Inner West (I'm in Summer Hill) 3. Duration: 90mins 4. Hit some 3-5 min hills. I'm...
