From memory, the only claim to fame that the Goulburn Brewery has is from this ad.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AHyVqJTsefc

You can see it at about 18-20 seconds in. It is the tower in the background. You can see this from the bypass as you go past Goulburn.

10-12km/hr up that hill is pretty solid. That is about what I manage to do. I also know that hill so, I know where the top is, it is pretty soul destroying as you tend to see a corner approaching thinking that it is the top, only to find that it turns and keeps going, and it does it about three time...

Wheels Wheels Wheels....

As some of you saw yesterday, I managed to hit a reasonably sized pothole on Saturday morning on my way to Renegade that resulted in a big enough dent in my rear rim to warrant it's replacement. Further, I am putting your tax payers dollars to work by claiming against the RTA, it was on the approach...

Which way did you do it? In at Audley or in at Waterfall?

When I do it with the quick riders we typically average around the 30km/hr mark, there would be some leeway in this depending on how quick you climb the hills.

OK, Yesterday morning while riding to Renegade, I hit a pot hole in the dark at about 40-45km/hr, instant pinch flat, as well as a major dent in the rim which is now a write off. So put in the spare, inflating it, and that went off like a gunshot, turns out there was a major hole in the tyre as well...

I did a ride yesterday at lunch, from work (just of Wentworth Ave), around the airport, and then West Botany Rd to Bestic and then onto Grand Parade, follow the normal route to Rocky Point Rd, then return down Sandringham, back through the airport tunnel (lots of fun), and then take the back road ba...

Sydney to Gong, Good Weather? Don't make me laugh. Unlike City to Surf which is yet to have bad weather on any of its runnings, Sydney to Gong is lucky if it gets one good year in 4. I seem to remember that the last couple of years haven't been the best. The last time I did it was when it reopened t...

We were talking about the road quality on Saturday, one theory is that they deliberately made the road surface rough to try and slow the bikes down. That came undone when they had to hot mix the corners of that section because it was getting torn apart. I know that on the first corner past the Bunde...

If someone registers before me, feel free to create the team.

I think that there was a topic already for this, but I couldn't find it. Entries for the Gong Ride open this Saturday, 15th August. The numbers this year are limited to 10,000 so, if you plan on riding it, I would suggest that you get in early. http://www.gongride.org.au/ I am assuming that DHBC wil...

Look Delta Cleats - For Sale

I accidentally bought the wrong cleats yesterday.

So, $20, new seat of Red Look Delta Cleats. They aren't in the packaging, but they are complete.

If I don't have any takes by COB Tuesday, I am going to try and eBay them.

Re: Most painful place to lose skin?

Skin wounds heal fast but crack your ribs and you better be prepared to endure the pain for months. Shallow breathing can only last so long before you need that big breath to clear your lungs... OUCH!
And from what I have heard, forget about sneezing, coughing and laughing...

Most painful place to lose skin?

Having come of my bike last week (ironic isn't it, ride halfway across the country with no issues, and I fall off within 10km of home), I lost some skin on my right knee. Having been injured in a few places, this has to be one of the most annoying places to hurt yourself. It hurts whenever you strai...

If you are unsure, I would say that it is safer to lower your seat than raise it.

I had my saddle too high for a long time, in 2007 I got an injury from this, I still have it and I now manage it rather than heal it.

I have done this route with All Trails, admittedly, I had a year off after reaching Alice Springs. I don't think that All Trails will do one straight between Adelaide and Darwin, and considering the low numbers on Alice to Darwin this year, I am not sure if they are going to repeat it any time soon....
