I'm keen. Should we ride all the way or get the ferry?

Re: Centennial Park Update: 30kph limit 09:00-16:30 ENFORCED
Back in the 80's (at Centennial) I had one friend break his neck, another made a quadraplegic (she died a few years later) and another break his elbow so badly it was crippled - all caused by unleashed dogs which were EVERYWHERE. Added to that at the time there was an in-line skating obsession and t...

Re: Can we organise another vintage ride?
I'm working on a plan. Ride into the city, have drinks at the Lord Nelson/Hero of Waterloo/Turk's Head then over to Wooloomooloo to The Frisco. They used to have a trad Jaz band on Sat arvo in the 80's! Then thru the back of the cross via Elizabeth Bay House to Paddington and a drink at the Lord Dud...

Great ride. The views were spectacular. I think there were a couple of gratuitous hills in the route, but the pain was soon over. I hope you remember the way for next week Eleri, 'cos I don't! Maybe Adrian could do a bikely route or suchlike....

Yes, a smooth transition obviates the need to call. Also, people sometimes think that if they've called, then it's ok to push back... like 'I warned you, dude!'

They'll just put you up a grade Eleri. You have to be able to tell everyone "I could've won, but chose not to" - ....and mean it.

Would we chop her up or mince her?depends when you want to eat them, it takes a longer ride to need solid. I will need energy bars for my longer triathlon race I am guessing. Do you know what would go into them? I would be up for a cook off, maybe Lizanne would be a good person to add into the mix

Re: Waterfall ride: Middies vs Fasties
One of the tricks with the cleats/traffic lights is (when stopping) to not set the gears more than a couple of clicks down from what you were riding at. One click is best. No clicks is better. That way, when you start up the pedal is moving quite slowly to your relative speed and you have more time ...

yeah, it's crazy the number of events and competitiors in swimming compared to cycling isn't it? Yet, they seem to always have to build a velodrome where before there was none.

Very true Weiyun, the technology is so much better these days as well. That said, of the five or six non-collision accidents (bicycle and motorcycle) I've seen in the last couple of years, every one of them (IMHO) was because the rider hit the front brake first while the wheel was turned. There's no...

In my humble opinion, the most important thing is to constantly and mindfully practice braking with a dominant left hand. I think the Europeans have got it right by having the front brake in the left hand.
