That is facinating reading. It's very good to see data used that has some "reality" to it. According to the researcher one needed to hit 26kph to be in the "top half" of the amateurs. My Strava shows EXACTLY 26kph. I certainly didnt have much left in the tank at the end. I would ...

Re: Pedal against Poverty - 13 & 14 October 2012

I love a fundraiser, however it is the same weekend as the Ride To Conquer Cancer. I have too much support to change causes mid campaign. My goal is in sight! Maybe next year.

Re: Waterfall ride: Middies vs Fasties

Mike, that was probably me on the 29th pushing the C25's pace. I was trying to catching Eleri and the rest of the 25's when bringing back three riders whom dropped out at Sans Souci after bits started falling off their bikes. I had them in the mid 30's along the Grand Parade. Clearly my over the sho...

Bike Case - Great Price

I know that there has been discussion from time to time on bike bags and cases. I just got an email from Torpedo 7. Their Bike case is on sale. I have one of these and it have served me very well. $190 and it would appear to be freight free! http://www.torpedo7.com.au/products/R7BCWN0EC/title/route7...

Re: Waterfall ride: Middies vs Fasties

I think the biggest leap will be trying to move between 28's and Middies. As the Middies get fitter the gap gets bigger. The leap is not only one of fitness but that of bike handling skill also. It seems to me that in the 28's the hammer gets dropped at Marrickville to the Princes Highway. This is t...

Re: Group buy, goo ingredients

....... you know this is "HOW" it all starts. A couple of budding chemists just mixing up some "goo's", then one says to the other "if we just mix in these Codrals we'll go faster". I have seen pictures of these "Goo Labs" on Billboards. If i hear a massive ex...

I am guilty........

I was watching my hour of Television for this week on Sunday afternoon. SBS's Cycling Central with two beers is my shameless "me" time. One of the stories was featured around Jayme Paris. Jayme Paris is one of our female Paralympians selected for this year's Paralympics in London. She is a...

Re: Police conviction thrown out of court

I recall the judge saying a couple of times that he wasn't here to consider the negligence of any other person than that who was before the court. He also told the police that he couldn't understand why the defendant wasn't simply given a caution at the time and everyone simply moved on. By the end ...

Re: Police conviction thrown out of court

I recall the magistrate repeating a number of times "that he had no experience in this (cycling) and therefore how should he know what is dangerous or negligent". He implied that if he did have some knowledge he would have used it in his consideration. He was certainly of the opinion that ...
