That sounds more manageable, and would keep us off so many big roads to concentrate on the picturesque stuff. Re: Tassie Sojourn

Umm yes, quite right. By the way, I plan to take my pedals off tonight and then stick them back on, not too tight. I remember having a terrible time at the airport last year with an over-tight pedal, and lost a certain amount of knuckle-skin as a result. All you veteran tourers are probably across t...

Well, there will be a big cohort of us on the same flight, so I'm sure that your excess can be farmed out if necessary. But did you notice above T-Bone saying: "We actually get 28kg because it's sporting goods, 23kg normal plus an extra 5kg."

Great, thanks. One can never have enough lights when commuting, and you;ve road-tested these. They seemed fairly cheap but then I realised that you have to buy batteries, leads, pouches, caps, chargers, mounts etc. separately. Still, it looks like a worthwhile investment in not ending up on the grou...

Hey Richard, what were those fantastic helmet-mounted lights you had down in Bright? Two globes, and you could turn one around to face backwards (with a red cap) if you wanted.

A final thought on why the week in Bright was so excellent. Normally when you go on holidays, you're counting down to when you have to go home. But when the climax of the week comes at the very end, with a big ride, it completely obscures thoughts of going home and back to work etc.

What do people think about on-line route-mapping programs? I find MapMyRide to be rather counter-intuitive and hard to use, and the elevation-map they give you is very basic. At least they promise to let you print out maps if you stump up some money, and this would be handy for Tassie. Bikely seems ...
