This has grown into a fairly popular ride of about 10 plus every week and sometimes pushing 15 plus. THere probably is demand for two groups, C28s and closer to Middies, and hopefully other riders from the C28s can start to join in rather than always doing the Waterfall ride.

I've just seen the availability of this course for those I've spoken to and are waiting to do this recently revised course. Notice is not great but please try to get on if you can. Anyone else wanting to be a ride leader please contact me or one of the committee members. Once agreed, and with roster...

Tour De France Nights at Marrickville Road Cafe

Ok. Based on the success of the Giro night, Sasha would like to schedule some TDF nights. Which would be the nights, based on what type of stage that day? Also, one option he would like are cycling DVDs also on the big screen prior to each stage event. Anyone got any good DVDs which will get the atm...

And a reminder that anyone riding the next morning needs to comply with NSW law and UCI regulations that you are required to be under 0.05% in blood alcohol level, or not adversely influenced by alcohol at a level below that. Good timing for the above question as I have confirmed with Sasha that it is on! He will rearrange the cafe and bring some more comfortable chairs in. Dinner will be available up to about 9.30 with background music, and then drinks and snack food available for the rest of the night. The Big Screen w...

Watching the Tour at Marrickville Road Cafe

OK. Sasha at MRC is considering opening up for some of the key Tour nights, with wine bar/beer and food and a massive screen. Could some of you suggest which nights would be the best to have social nights and serious Tour watching? He may run a few, so maybe 5 or 6 nights suggestions would be good. ...

Middies Ride - Perfection

Averaged about 31.5kms - perfect pace. This should encourage some C28s to come up a level, and allow the C28s take it down a notch from the 30kms ph and a bit more. Nice smooth group. No stop/starting. No front riders shooting off at the front when leading. Good calling, good communication. No flat ...

Nice closing summary Christian as per your first post. Sorry everyone to put out a complicated option. Got some good debate but it's now pretty obvious that its time for the stronger and technically sound riders all to go up one. Congratulations.

Re: Sunday Bunches - Do you like this possible option?

Middies is not meant for 33kms per hour. It should be about 31 or 32 max. Furthermore Middies riders can benefit by: 1. Front riders checking from time to time if everyone is on at the one or two toughest points. It is generally a 'drop' ride, but at the Loftus climb it doesn't hurt to look behind a...

Sunday Bunches - Do you like this possible option?

Dear all, A large number of riders, and bunch sizes and sometimes inconsistent speeds provides us with an opportunity to consider an additional bunch. Currently on Sundays we Have: 6.00am RNP (Strong C28s plus) 6.30am Fasties (35kms ph plus) Middies (30 to 33km ph hour) C28s (28 to 29kms ph hour) C2...

Just been speaking with Pat after his crash near Rocky Point Road in the C 28s. He's a St George Hospital but in good spirits. Swelling to his cheek bone has gone right down and he might need a few stitiches above the brow. That's all the info I have.

Its a short course, and very fast, and quite varied. Much harder than Heffron Park. The ride out and back is also quite a good one, and fun to do in a big bunch. Those wanting to have a different ride, but not yet with a racing licence, would be welcome to ride out and back and watch the crit.

Eastern Suburbs 5 Hills ride - Thursdays (non Club ride)

MC Cyclery Maroubra (also has the Giant Store in Sydney CBD) has a very successful ride on Thursdays which a number of DHBC riders attend. It starts at 6.15am at the Robertson Gate at Centennial Park. It arrives back at Waverly at around 7.30am for coffee/breakfast or work for those who must go. The...
